Following its celebrated East Coast premiere at the 2014 New York International Fringe Festival (FringeNYC), the critically acclaimed ABSOLUTELY FILTHY will return to NYC as part of SoHo Playhouse's FringeNYC ENCORE SERIES with performances from October 1st through October 5th only at SoHo Playhouse (15 Vandam Street between Varick and Spring Streets).

Bad Blocks are a young two-piece from New Zealand, currently living in Melbourne,Australia. Their music is a subtle and ingenious mix of electronic dream pop, ambient, and EDM — think SBTRKT and The Weeknd combined with William Basinski and Jon Hopkins. A seemingly-effortless study of space, texture, and atmosphere, their new single 'Lunar' premieres today via Under The Radar (NZ).

NiCori Studios and Productions in association with the Oakeside Bloomfield Cultural Center announces a new installment of the monthly concert series, Music at the Mansion, on Sunday, September 21, at 3pm. Continuing Joffrey Artistic Director Ashley Wheater's endeavor to bring re-imagined story-ballets to Chicago audiences, this performance represents the first time The Joffrey Ballet has ever performed a Swan Lake in its almost 60-year history. Swan Lake is presented at the Auditorium Theatre of Roosevelt University, 50 E. Congress Parkway, in 10 performances only, October 15 - 26.

The complete Broadway cast for the critically-lauded reimagining of the musical Side Show has been announced. Under the direction of Academy Award winning director Bill Condon (Chicago, Dreamgirls, Twilight Breaking Dawn Parts 1 & 2), making his theatrical debut, Side Show will begin previews performances at Broadway's St. James Theatre on Tuesday, October 28 with an official Opening Night on Monday, November 17.

Today OZ, Nashville's first contemporary arts center, announces its 2014-15 season, which runs today, September 12, 2014 - June 27, 2015. The season is bookended by premieres, beginning with two performances (September 12 & 13) of Tim Robbins' interpretation of A Midsummer Night's Dream, produced and acted by the company he founded and leads, The Actors' Gang, in the production's first U.S. engagement outside of the company's home theater in Los Angeles. OZ's 2014-15 program will conclude with the world premiere (June 18-20) of Memory Rings, the latest multi-media stage production from innovative New York City-based puppetry collective Phantom Limb Company.

In the weeks leading up to the season premiere of FX's SONS OF ANARCHY, there was much talk about how gruesome and shocking the first few minutes of the show would be. Viewer discretion would be highly advised. Thinking back to many past episodes, this advisory seemed wise. The show started with a series of “Last season on SOA” clips to get you both excited for what was to come and angry about what had already occurred. Creator Kurt Sutter is known for toying with our emotions this way. The scenes transitioned to one of Jax (Charlie Hunnam) in prison, beating the hell out of some guy. I watched the premiere with a friend who was new to SOA. He asked who Jax's victim was and though I squinted my eyes to 20/20 vision, I couldn't tell who he was through all the blood, sweat and tears.
