Acclaimed Off-Broadway theater company Playwrights Horizons has announced initial details for its 2013 special online Auction in connection with its annual Spring Gala. Bidding for the auction, which will feature an eclectic array of items and unique opportunities, begins Friday March 29 at 10AM at www.biddingforgood/playwrightshorizons. Online bidding will continue through Monday, April 15 at 8PM.

Due to popular demand, Playwrights Horizons has announced an extension of its critically-acclaimed, sold out World Premiere production of The Flick, a new play by the heralded Obie Award-winning playwright Annie Baker (Circle Mirror Transformation at PH, The Aliens, her recent adaptation of Uncle Vanya). Originally set to play a limited engagement through Sunday, March 31, the production has extended to Sunday, April 7 at Playwrights Horizons' Mainstage Theater (416 West 42nd Street).

Playwrights Horizons begins accepting entries today, Friday, February 8, for its popular LIVEforFIVE online lottery for $5 tickets to the World Premiere of THE FLICK, a new play by Obie Award winner Annie Baker (Circle Mirror Transformation at Playwrights Horizons/PH, The Aliens, her recent adaptation of Uncle Vanya), directed by Obie Award winner Sam Gold (Circle Mirror Transformation, Kin and The Big Meal at PH; Seminar and the current Picnic on Broadway). The LIVEforFIVE lottery for THE FLICK will be for tickets to the first preview on Friday evening, February 15 at 8PM at Playwrights Horizons' Mainstage Theater (416 West 42nd Street).

Playwrights Horizons (Tim Sanford, Artistic Director; Leslie Marcus, Managing Director) proudly announces the launch of AVTiki, an innovative online sales channel that will give theater patrons the ability to purchase tickets without leaving Facebook. The theater company becomes the very first in New York to offer ticket sales - with the added option to make additional reservations for friends - through this unique distribution channel for social ticketing.

As reported by the Daily Mail, actors Kobna Holdbrook-Smith, Naana Agyei-Ampadu, Daniel Cerqueira, Noma Dumezweni and Louis Mahoney will appear in Feast, a piece about the Yoruba diaspora, at the Young Vic from tonight, Jan. 25. The show is directed by Rufus Norris, whose production of Cabaret is currently playing the Savoy.

Primary Stages has announced its newest training program, PS[NYC], the Primary Stages Theater Semester in New York. PS[NYC] is designed to fully immerse undergraduate students in theater and the world of creating new plays in New York City. This 14-week program is held at Primary Stages, one of Off-Broadway's leading producers of new works and home of the Einhorn School of Performing Arts (ESPA), a multidisciplinary school with departments in playwriting, acting, and directing. PS[NYC] gives students maximum exposure to New York theater and the industry professionals who create it. Students will not only learn what it takes to make great theater, but will sharpen their critical thinking skills as well. Students will be encouraged to identify and nurture their own artistic inner voices, and will leave the program with knowledge, insight, and skills that can only be developed in an environment built on artistic excellence.

The Oregon Shakespeare Festival continues to expand its ongoing commitment to the development and production of new work with five new commissions. American Revolutions: the United States History Cycle adds Ayad Akhtar, Kirsten Greenidge, Stephen Karam, Lisa Loomer and Karen Zacarias to its list of commissioned writers.

Geva Theatre Center unveils its line-up for the Festival of New Theatre 2012 to be held in the Nextstage from October 25 - November 4. FONT2012 is a vibrant and innovative mix of new works by some of the most exciting playwrights from across the country and around the corner.

On Tuesday, October 9, Primary Stages (Executive Producer Casey Childs, Artistic Director Andrew Leynse, Managing Director Elliot Fox) continued their celebration of the Foote Family legacy at the opening night of HIM by Daisy Foote. This world-premiere production, the second of Primary Stages' 28th season, features Tony Award nominee Hallie Foote (Harrison, TX , Dividing the Estate) Tim Hopper (Present Laughter, The Dying Gaul, Steppenwolf), Adam LeFevre (The Doctor's Dilemma), and Adina Verson (The Winter's Tale at Yale Rep). Helmed by Obie Award-winning director Evan Yionoulis (Three Days of Rain, Violet Hour), HIM runs September 25 - October 28 at Primary Stages at 59E59 Theaters.

Due to the overwhelming response to Playwrights Horizons' 2012/2013 season, all productions are now playing longer runs to accommodate the larger subscription base. The limited engagement of THE WHALE, originally announced through Sunday, November 18, will now play through Sunday, December 2.
