William Peace Theatre is delighted to present Drood (The Mystery of Edwin Drood), based on the unfinished Charles Dickens novel 'The Mystery of Edwin Drood' and directed by Jason Dula, M.T.W., WPU's Artistic Director and Associate Professor of Musical Theatre.

William Peace University, a private four-year university located in downtown Raleigh, has announced that the university will host a new production of The Mystery of Edwin Drood, written by Rupert Holmes, on Thursday, Nov. 14 through Saturday, Nov. 23. The show will be performed nightly from 7:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. at the university's Leggett Theatre, located at 15 E. Peace St., with an additional matinee performance from 2 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Nov. 23. Jason Dula, associate professor of musical theatre, will serve as director of the musical.

3-D Theatriclas presents Funny Girl Sept 6 - Sept 22, 2013 at the Plummer Auditorium, and Sept 27 - Sept 29, 2013 at Redondo Beach. Funny Girl is a musical with a book by Isobel Lennart, music by Jule Styne, and lyrics by Bob Merrill. The semi-biographical plot is based on the life and career of Broadway, film star and comedienne Fanny Briceand her stormy relationship with entrepreneur and gambler Nick Arnstein. Its original title was My Man.

The National High School Musical Theater Awards (NHSMTA) selected 62 finalists from tens of thousands of students to compete for the coveted Jimmy Award for Best Performance by an Actor and Best Performance by an Actress, earlier this summer at the Minskoff Theatre. Hosted by the Tony Award-nominated stars of Rodgers + Hammerstein's CINDERELLA, Laura Osnes and Santino Fontana, the fifth annual performance showcase featured dynamic ensemble and solo performances exclusively from the musical theater cannon. The European premiere of a new chamber version of the Tony award-winning Broadway musical TITANIC is now playing at Southwark Playhouse and there's lots of buzz surrounding a possible West End or even New York transfer. Composer Maury Yeston told New York Post's Michael Riedel: 'These are very early days. It only just opened and who knows how many folks from here have seen it yet? But they did a terrific job, and it's so powerful in a small space! Very gratifying for the production to get such a warm and wide reception. I so wish Peter were here to see it.'
