On Sunday, August 22nd, 207 volunteers danced in a 'Flash Mob' performance at Mall of America to celebrate Chanhassen Dinner Theatres' new hit production of ALL SHOOK UP in a choreographed rendition of 'JAILHOUSE ROCK.' The 'Flash Mob,' choreographed by Tamara Kangas-Erickson, featured several members of the ALL SHOOK UP cast and about 200 additional volunteers (from as far north as St. Cloud and as far south as Marshalltown, Iowa) who joined in the fun. Participants ranged in age from 7 to 70! The 'Flash Mob' number features the lead dancer from the Chanhassen production playing a character who busts out of jail and is eluding the law. Dancers are looking high and low for him. At one point in the dance, the group strips off their tops to reveal black and white t-shirts used to form jailhouse uniform stripes and a live beating heart for the 'heartthrob jailbird.' The entire 3.5 minute routine was rehearsed in just two rehearsals last week held at Chanhassen and Chaska High Schools.

For the first time, Chanhassen Dinner Theatres will produce the hugely popular musical play about the legendary country singer, Miss Patsy Cline. ALWAYS...PATSY CLINE opens Friday, April 3 on the Fireside stage with official opening festivities on Friday, April 17th.
One hundred high school students from the Twin Cities' area and beyond, are thrilled to have been selected to appear in Chanhassen Dinner Theatres' STARKID event to honor them and celebrate young talent. The honor is two-fold. First, STARKIDS have garnered the amazing opportunity to appear onstage, altogether in the finale of FOOTLOOSE at Chanhassen Dinner Theatres in a specially choreographed piece to showcase the students alongside the cast on Tuesday evening, March 30. Additionally, each student has also earned the dream 'job,' winning an actual role in a single future production of FOOTLOOSE during April or May (A maximum of four students will appear in each performance).
