Get to Know the Cast of SWEAT on Broadway- Opens Tonight!

Sweat, the new Broadway play opens today at Studio 54. The critically acclaimed new play from Pulitzer Prize-winning writer Lynn Nottage, comes to Broadway following its sold-out run at The Public Theater. Filled with warm humor and tremendous heart, SWEAT tells the story of a group of friends who have spent their lives sharing drinks, secrets and laughs while working together on the factory floor. But when layoffs and picket lines begin to chip away at their trust, the friends find themselves pitted against each other in a heart-wrenching fight to stay afloat. Get to know the company before they take their opening bows!

Michele Pawk, Jonathan Hadary, Lenny Wolpe to Lead Project Shaw's YOU NEVER CAN TELL

Gingold Theatrical Group's Project Shaw, under the leadership of Artistic Director David Staller, continues its 12th Season when it presents its 122nd concert presentation with Shaw's 1897 romantic comedy of errors You Never Can Tell on Monday, April 17 at 7pm, at Symphony Space's Leonard Nimoy Thalia Theatre (2537 Broadway at 95th Street).

Contemporary Ballet Choreographer Cherylyn Lavagnino To Present GENDER SHIFTS

Cherylyn Lavagnino, Artistic Director of Cherylyn Lavagnino Dance, will present a new, combination choreographic work, "Gender Shifts," at 92Y's DIG DANCE Moving Forward: Women Ballet Choreographers East and West, on Friday, April 28 at 8pm, in the historic Buttenwieser Hall. Five female East/West choreographers will come together that evening to present a singular program of new dances and revivals. 

Cellist Peri Mauer to Play Solo Set at Zinc Bar

Cellist and composer Peri Mauer will be revisiting her composition 'Dutchess Starlight Revisited' in a solo set on cello at Zinc Bar on Wednesday, March 22nd at 7PM.

Periapsis Music and Dance presents IMMINENCE at GK Artscenter 4/1-2

Periapsis Music and Dance presents Imminence, a new work by choreographer Erin Dillon and composer Jonathan Howard Katz, on April 1 at 8:00 pm and April 2 and 3:00 pm and 7:00 pm at GK ArtsCenter (aka Gelsey Kirkland Academy), 29 Jay Street, Brooklyn.  Tickets are $24 advance, $30 at the door, with special pricing for students and artists of $15 advance and $20 at the door, available at http://periapsismusicanddance.org/calendar/.

Jazz Pianist Ben Rosenblum to Play The Kitano in New York City

Pianist Ben Rosenblum will present unique solo piano programs each Tuesday in April at The Kitano, (66 Park Ave, no cover, $15 min food/drink charge), including: selected standards and originals (April 4), selections from unusual inspirations/sources (April 11); special guests (April 18); and selections from his debut album (April 25).  Ben's music has earned numerous awards, including the ASCAP Young Jazz Composers Award and several Downbeat Student Music Awards (best original composition and best original arrangement), and has been described as "mature beyond his years." Charles Busch and Penny Fuller Lend Their Voices For the Upcoming Musical DIVA: LIVE FROM HELL

Charles Busch and Penny Fuller, who appeared together as bosom buddies Mame and Vera in Auntie Mame at the Bay Street Theatre, will lend their voices to Monahan & Oyen's DIVA: Live From Hell. Busch (The Divine Sister, The Tale of the Allergist's Wife) will voice the manager of the dingy cabaret venue in Hell, where Desmond Channing (played by Monahan) is doomed to perform his torturous act for eternity. Fuller (Sunday in the Park with George, The Elephant Man), who was nominated for a Tony Award for her portrayal of Eve Harrington in the musical Applause, will voice the grandmother of Desmond Channing (loosely inspired by the character of Eve Harrington's nemesis, Margo Channing).

American Composers Orchestra Presents ORCHESTRA UNDERGROUND: PAST FORWARD, 3/24

Following a sold out, critically acclaimed engagement at New York's Public Theater, Sweat, the new play by Pulitzer Prize winner Lynn Nottage, directed by Kate Whoriskey will officially open on Broadway on March 26, 2017.

Groove to Latin Beats at Symphony Space in March

Symphony Space comes alive with Latin music in March, with concerts by Brazilian-Caribbean groove band Nation Beat, plus two Latin Grammy Award winners: 123 Andres and Lucky Diaz and the Family Jam Band. All tickets are $17 ($14 for members).
