East West Players (EWP), the nation's longest-running professional theatre of color in the country and the largest producing organization of Asian American artistic work, re-opens the hugely popular production 'Chinglish' with a revised ending by Tony Award-winning playwright David Henry Hwang and directed by Jeff Liu. The critically-acclaimed production will have a limited run the first two weeks of December, starting Thursday, December 3 through Sunday, December 13.
Inside Broadway's Executive Director Michael Presser is pleased to announce that on Thursday, December 10, Finding Neverland and the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre (205 West 46th Street) will be visited by thousands of NYC public school students when the theatre arts & education organization will present its popular 'Creating the Magic' Program. Featuring the cast and production crew of the hit Broadway musical, the special 80 minute program will be offered at 10:45am and 1:15pm.
The new film THE AMERICAN SIDE is set to hit theaters in liminted release in the spring of 2016. The film stars Matthew Broderick, Alicja Bachleda, Camilla Belle, Robert Forster, Greg Stuhr, , Janeane Garofalo and Robert Vaughn.
Paul Pecorino, currently starring in the Off-Broadway smash RUTHLESS! THE MUSICAL is set to be a special celebrity presenter at the 17th Annual Glam Awards tonight (Wednesday) at 9 PM. Paul will of course be appearing as his imperious (and uber glam) RUTHLESS! character, Sylvia St. Croix. The Glam Awards, hosted by Bianca Del Rio, honor the brightest stars in NYC gay nightlife and over 400 guests are expected to attend. Roundabout Theatre Company (Todd Haimes, Artistic Director) just announced two new productions from two acclaimed playwrights for the 2016-2017 season: a new Broadway production of The Cherry Orchard by Anton Chekhov with a new adaptation by Stephen Karam (The Humans), directed by Simon Godwin and a new play, Love, Love, Love by Mike Bartlett (King Charles III), directed by Michael Mayer.
These productions will culminate Roundabout's 50th anniversary season.
