Executive-produced by Amy Sherman-Palladino ('Gilmore Girls') and headlined by Tony Award-winning actor Sutton Foster, BUNHEADS is the tale of a Las Vegas showgirl who impulsively marries a man, moves to his sleepy coastal town, and takes an uneasy role at her new mother-in-law's dance school.

Today in 2002, Thoroughly Modern Millie opened at the Marquis Theatre, where it ran for 903 performances. Thoroughly Modern Millie is a musical with music by Jeanine Tesori, lyrics by Dick Scanlan, and a book by Richard Morris and Scanlan. Based on the 1967 film of the same name, it tells the story of a small-town girl, Millie Dillmount, who comes to New York City to marry for money instead of love - a thoroughly modern aim in 1922, when women were just entering the workforce. The production subsequently won six 2002 Tony Awards, including Best Musical and Best Actress in a Musical for Sutton Foster.

Today, the spotlight falls upon Ryan Bowie, who is a company member and director of fundraising and development at Clarksville's Roxy Regional Theatre, currently onstage in the staged reading of Moises Kaufman's Gross Indecency through Saturday night, March 24, and who will be opening in The Red Badge of Courage (running March 30-April 7) and in Spring Awakening (April 13-May 5).
