Point Park University's Playhouse Jr. kicks off its 65th anniversary with productions of a musical take on the much-beloved children's story, The Wind in the Willows and the contemporary tale, Hush: An Interview with America.

On Friday May 23rd, Saturday May 24th and Sunday May 25th, the students from the Warner Theatre Center for Arts Education Performance Lab will present Urinetown the Musical in the Nancy Marine Studio Theatre.

On Friday May 9th, Saturday May 10th and Sunday May 11th, the students from the WTCAE will present Disney's Mulan, Jr. in the Nancy Marine Studio Theatre.

The Met: Live in HD Series continues this Saturday, May 10th at 1 pm in the Warner's Nancy Marine Studio Theatre with Rossini's La Cenerentola.

Undercover Productions LLC will present the Off-Broadway Premiere of Ethel Sings, by Joan Beber beginning performances at Theatre Row's Beckett Theatre (410 West 42nd Street, between 9th and 10th Avenues) on May 31st, with Opening Night set for Friday June 6th. This limited engagement will continue through July 13th.

Penguin Rep Theatre's 2014 season officially begins May 16, 2013, with The Savannah Disputation, written by Evan Smith and directed by Mark Shanahan.

If you have not had the opportunity to experience this workshop production, you should not miss the opportunity to witness this rarest of theatre pieces. The Admission, by Israeli playwright Motti Lerner, does what few plays succeed in doing. The play confronts with searing honesty a reality few want to know or much less think about, giving voice to all sides of a situation that continues to rattle the world: the birth of Israel and the Israeli/Palestinian conflict. And it does so without resorting to hyperbolic rhetoric, contemptuous righteousness, or what so often happens, melodrama.

European Arts Company is set to tour to 43 venues in England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland with a new show about the libel and criminal trials of Oscar Wilde. The Trials of Oscar Wilde has been co-written with Merlin Holland who is Oscar Wilde's grandson and author of 'Irish Peacock and Scarlet Marquess: The Real Trial of Oscar Wilde'.

From May 10 to June 7, 2014, SpeakEasy Stage Company will present the New England Premiere of one of the most talked-about shows in theatre history: CARRIE the musical.

The Kleban Foundation just announced that the 24th annual Kleban Prize for the most promising musical theatre lyricist has been awarded to Nathan Tysen and the 24th annual Kleban Prize for the most promising musical theatre librettist has been awarded to Arthur Perlman.The 2014 prizes will be presented on Monday, June 23, 2014, in a private ceremony (by invitation only) hosted by ASCAP and BMI.

FST has officially opened 2014's PoetryLife Weekend for sale with tickets available for the events today and tomorrow, May 2 and 3.

The Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey's 52nd Season opens with The Tempest, Shakespeare's final great work. Performances begin May 28th and continue through June 22nd at the F.M. Kirby Shakespeare Theatre, 36 Madison Ave. (at Lancaster Road) in Madison. Shirley Jo Finney, director of the Fountain Theatre's multiple award-winning production of In the Red and Brown Water in 2012, returns to direct the second play in Tarell Alvin McCraney's 'Brother/Sister Plays' trilogy. The Los Angeles premiere of The Brothers Size opens June 7 at the Fountain for a limited engagement that must close July 27.

Motti Lerner's acclaimed but controversial play, The Admission, just finished a short, sold-out run at Theater J and will be remounted in workshop form by Busboys and Poets. The show will transfer to Studio Theatre's Mead Theater for a three-week commercial engagement starting April 30 through May 18, 2014.

So it seems BroadHollow has another hit on their hands with Little Shop of Horrors. Is this fun and comical production consistently produced? Sure. But that doesn't for anyone mean to miss out on a well-executed show.
