Award-winning composer Jeff Thomson makes his debut at 54 Below with "Go Where The Love Is" on Monday, January 20th at 9:30pm. The evening will highlight material from the upcoming musicals Pump Up the Volume, Trails, and Jawbreaker, as well as several yet-to-be-revealed projects.

The Sunday Series at Abingdon will present a special one night only Holiday performance of playwright Charles Messina's hysterical one act, FAIRIES. Proceeds will benefit the programs of the not-for-profit Abingdon Theatre.

American Conservatory Theater (A.C.T.) is proud to announce the recipients of the 2013-14 Conservatory Awards, which recognizes and honors outstanding alumni of A.C.T.'s award-winning actor training program and pays tribute to donors and organizations who have provided significant support to the Master of Fine Arts (M.F.A.) Program Scholarship Fund. The third annual Conservatory Awards luncheon raises necessary funding for M.F.A. Program scholarships while celebrating A.C.T.'s accomplishments with award winners and current M.F.A. Program students. The winners of the five awards to be presented are Emmy Award-nominated actor and A.C.T. M.F.A. Program honorary graduate Harry Hamlin, who receives The Edward Hastings Career Achievement Award; actress of stage and screen Heidi Armbruster, who receives The Rising Star Award; actor and Shakespeare Iraq drama teacher Peter Friedrich, who receives the Contribution to the Field Award; Joan W. Sadler, who receive The Benefactor Award; and Wells Fargo, which receives The Champion Award. Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee, National Medal of Honor for the Arts recipient and GRAMMY Award-nominee Allen Toussaint returns to Joe's Pub at The Public today, October 6 at noon to celebrate the release of SONGBOOK (Rounder Records) featuring twenty five of Toussaint's songs captured on CD and DVD and originally recorded at Joe's Pub in 2009.

American Conservatory Theater (A.C.T.) Conservatory Director Melissa Smith announced today that A.C.T.'s Tony Award-winning theater and training institution has launched The San Francisco Semester, an all-new study away program bringing undergraduate students from across the country into an active, ongoing engagement with the eclectic and energetic arts community of San Francisco and the Bay Area. With a focus on the practical aspects of the craft of acting and life in the professional theater, the 15-week program features a 17-credit core curriculum enhancing students' undergraduate study with rigorous, upper-level classes in acting styles, voice/dialects, physical theater, and devised (student-created) work. A.C.T. joins the ranks of such other distinguished study away programs as La MaMa Experimental Theatre Club and the National Theater Institute. The inaugural San Francisco Semester begins September 2014.

The Los Angeles Philharmonic Association has announced three conductors who will participate in the 2013/14 Dudamel Fellowship Program - Daniel Cohen, BenGernon, and Antonio Mendez. Music Director Gustavo Dudamel, together with the Los Angeles Philharmonic, created the Dudamel Fellowship Program in 2009 to provide a unique opportunity for promising young conductors from around the world to develop their craft and enrich their musical experience through personal mentorship and participation in the LA Phil's orchestral, education and community programs.

Guthrie Theater presents 12 mainstage shows in its 2013-2014 season. The theater's 51st season includes first-time Guthrie Productions of playwrights Beth Henley and Nina Raine, classics on the Wurtele Thrust Stage directed by Dowling and Marion McClinton, WorldStage Series presentations of returning companies Kneehigh Theatre and Out of Joint, as well as a summertime slate of a beloved musical and a Christopher Durang comedy that is currently a Broadway hit.

For the second year in a row, the UH School of Theatre & Dance has been named 'Best College Theater' in the Houston Press' Theater Awards. Faculty and students will accept this honor during the official awards ceremony Aug. 26 at Phoenicia MKT Bar (located in downtown Houston).

WaterTower Theatre Producing Artistic Director Terry Martin has announced the co-production of Red Hot Patriot: the Kick-Ass Wit of Molly Ivins with Stage West, running tonight, August 18 -September 29, 2013 in the Studio Theatre at the Addison Theatre Centre. Georgia Clinton reprises her performance as the well-known Texas journalist Molly Ivins.
