Beautiful Soup Theater's has announced that their revival of Ferenc Molnar's Liliom will open at The Celebration of Whimsy [formerly The Living Theatre] in New York City on February 26th, 2014. Performances will play Wednesday through Saturday at 7:00pm, with Saturday and Sunday matinees at 2pm. The run will conclude on March 9th. The production, directed by Artistic Director Steven Carl McCasland, will mark the play's first full New York revival in over five decades.

Kimberly Faye Greenberg (One Night With Fanny Brice) will star in Beautiful Soup Theater's upcoming American premiere of LIFT. A smash hit at London's SoHo Theatre, LIFT played to sold out crowds earlier this year in a production from Pitch Perfect Musicals. It makes its New York bow in a new production directed by Steven Carl McCasland.
The season will begin with the American premiere of the sold-out West End hit musical Lift, with music and lyrics by Craig Adams and a libretto by Ian Watson. The musical will play The Richmond Shepard Theatre in November, 2013 and will star Erin Elizabeth Eichhorn (Bella in Rags).
The Beautiful Soup Theater, whose revival of Moose Murders recently played The Connelly Theatre, will return to that venue in May with a production of the short-lived musical RAGS. The musical, which closed on Broadway after only four performances in 1986, features a masterful score by Charles Strouse (Annie, Applause, Bye, Bye, Birdie!), lyrics by two-time Academy Award winner Stephen Schwartz and a libretto by Joseph Stein. The musical has undergone extensive revisions over the years, and this version will reflect material from both the well-received 1994 American Jewish Theatre production and the 2011 Lyric Stage production.

The Beautiful Soup Theater Collective is presenting 'Crossing Brooklyn,' with music by Larson Award-winner Jenny Giering (Alice Unwrapped, Saint-Ex, The Mistress Cycles) and Book and Lyrics by Kleban Award-winner Laura Harrington (N Bonaparte, Resurrection, Alice Unwrapped). Set in New York City in 2002, 'Crossing Brooklyn' tells the story of Des and AJ, young, idealistic public school teachers bent on changing the world, one kid at a time. Life is full of promise and endless possibility until Des begins to unravel under the weight of her fears, ignited that fateful September day. Splitting apart under the strain, Des and AJ struggle to find their way back to each other. This innovative production will use original multimedia film pieces by filmmaker Brian Oh (Deeproot Films) to help tell Des' and AJ's stories.
