On Saturday, Feb. 14, the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra is planning an evening of romance surrounding the return of Buffalo favorite Steve Lippia. Beginning at 8 PM, Lippia performs all of Frank Sinatra's greatest hits with your BPO. After the concert, the audience is invited to enjoy the BPO's annual Sweetheart Dance in the Mary Seaton Room, with music by the Katy Miner Quartet. The dance is sponsored by The Reid Group. In addition to the musicals and dramas featured in the Theatre's 2014/15 season (The Foreigner, Fiddler on the Roof, The Wiz, Glengarry Glen Ross and LES MISERABLES), the Theatre will present a spectacular lineup of all-new concerts and special productions, along with select beloved favorites.
The 2014/15 season will begin with The Foreigner (October 26 - November 9), an uproariously funny adventure set in a rural Georgia fishing lodge that follows a shy man who adopts a persona as a non-English-speaking foreigner. We continue with Fiddler on the Roof (December 2 - 21), the Tony Award-winning classic musical that follows dairyman Tevye as he fights to maintain his family and heritage. Next up in The Wiz (January 13 - February 1), the spirited, rock gospel and soul Tony Award-winning musical based on the classic tale The Wonderful Wizard of Oz - perfect for the entire family. Then join us for Glengarry Glen Ross (February 8 - 22), David Mamet's Pulitzer Prize-winning masterpiece about a group of tough-talking Chicago real estate agents who will do anything to close a deal. Our incredible season ends with a four-week run of the Tony Award-winning phenomenon Les Miserables (March 10 - April 5), an epic and inspiring production not to be missed!

Texas A&M University's MSC OPAS has announced the events coming to the 2013-14 "Sparks Will Fly" season. The organization unveiled a roster of performances to be presented from September 2013 to April 2014 that includes eight events on the Ann Cobb Wiatt Main Stage series, five on the Intimate Gatherings series, two on the OPAS JR series and two on the new OPAS Family series.
The 2013 Boston Pops season, May 8-June 15, under the direction of Keith Lockhart, will present a season-long tribute to the world of movie music, along with programs featuring a wide variety of American musical styles, including jazz, bluegrass, country, gospel, pop, classic standards from the 50s and 60s, and show-stopping songs of Broadway and the American Songbook. For the programs focusing on the season theme, 'Best of Hollywood Film Music,' audiences will hear their favorite music from classic movies and today's popular soundtracks performed live by the Boston Pops, while the accompanying movie clips are projected onto a giant screen suspended above the orchestra.
