If ever a show has become part of the 'fabric' of New York and pop culture, it's the Tony Award-winning musical Avenue Q, with its colorful -- in costume and in language -- cast of humans and puppets. The ground-breaking musical hits a new landmark today, July 31, when it celebrates its 12th anniversary at New World Stages (340 W. 50 St.), where AVENUE Q has performed for the past six years, following its triumphant six-year run on Broadway. Dallas Theater Center announced today complete details for the world premiere of MOONSHINE: That Hee Haw Musical, a new musical comedy with music and lyrics by award-winning songwriters Brandy Clark and Shane McAnally and a book by Robert Horn. MOONSHINE: That Hee Haw Musical begins previews on Wednesday, September 2 and runs through October 11, with press opening on Friday, September 18. THE BOOK OF MORMON said 'Hello' to its sold-out, two-week run at a Salt Lake City theater last night, and according to The Associated Press, the show received an enthusiastic reception.

Iconic singer Cyndi Lauper joined TODAY's Kathie Lee and Hoda this morning to talk about the global expansion of her musical KINKY BOOTS, her struggles with psoriasis, and a couple of new projects, including Broadway work and a new album.

In a new interview with The Associated Press, the show's creators, Trey Parker and Matt Stone shared that tonight's opening has brought the show full circle.

Producers Daryl Roth and Hal Luftig announced today that Kinky Boots has implemented a new digital lottery, allowing potential audience members to purchase $37 day-of tickets from anywhere.

The Toronto Star writes that the Canadian premiere of the Tony Award-winning KINKY BOOTS, which opened June 28 at the Royal Alexandra Theatre, has been extended through November 8, 2015. Tickets for the added six weeks of performances go on sale July 6.
