Block performed at a special Good Housekeeping Mother's Day lunch on Friday, May 8th, and BroadwayWorld.com was there to celebrate the festive afternoon.

Playwrights Horizons (Tim Sanford, Artistic Director; Leslie Marcus, Managing Director) is now accepting entries for its popular LIVEforFIVE online lottery for $5 tickets to its next production, the New York premiere of OUR HOUSE, a new play by Pulitzer Prize finalist Theresa Rebeck (The Butterfly Collection and Bad Dates at Playwrights Horizons, Broadway's Mauritius, co-author of Omnium Gatherum). At least 50 tickets will be available via the online lottery.

The Dramatists Guild of America announces the deadline to select the next group of young writers to participate in the Dramatists Guild Fellowship Program. The story begins with a boy finding a striped hat sitting on a box on a bare stage. The boy tries to touch the hat, and out of the box pops The Cat in the Hat, one of the most beloved literary figures from the collection of Dr. Seuss (Theodore Giesel).

The ASCAP Foundation Children Will Listen program, which is designed to introduce the American Musical Theater to youngsters who might otherwise not have the opportunity to experience it, travels to Washington, D.C.'s Kennedy Center on April 24th to bring over 100 students from the Duke Ellington School of the Arts to a performance of Ragtime written by Tony Award-winning ASCAP members, lyricist Lynn Ahrens and composer Stephen Flaherty.
