The Towne Street Theatre has extended its play submission call for their 4th Annual Ten Minute Play Festival. Towne Street is seeking plays relevant to the festival's theme, 'The Black Experience' - Colored, Negro, Black, African-American; a collection of our stories.

In response to popular demand, The Blank Theatre Company has announced the return of Nicholas Brendon in 'The Santaland Diaries' by David Sedaris. Once again directed by Michael Matthews, 'Santaland' begins preview performances on Friday, November 19, and opening night is set for Saturday, November 27 at 8:00 at the Stella Adler Theatre in Hollywood. Last year's entire engagement of this show at The Blank's 2nd Stage Theatre sold out before performances began.

Florida Stage opens its 24th season with the new mystery 'Cane,' written by Andrew Rosendorf. Cane represents the first in a collection of plays being commissioned by Florida Stage about issues central to the state of Florida (The Florida Cycle). This is a deeply human and riveting new play with some extraordinary special effects-that looks at how it is possible that one of the wettest states in the nation has become so dry.

Margie Gillis will present the MAD Spirit Award to Alexandra Wells. The event is a part of the Studio's Fifth Annual Harold Clurman Festival, which brings artists and activists together to discuss the relationship between art and social activism and which raises funds for the nonprofit.
