The off-Broadway staple Altar Boyz, played its final performance on January 10, 2010 at its home, New World Stages after playing 2032 performances - cast members past and present were on stage and on hand to celebrate the show's success. It is the 9th longest running off-Broadway musical in history.

Ken Davenport, producer of the off-Broadway staple Altar Boyz, has announced today that the show will play its final performance on January 10, 2010 at 7:30pm at its home, New World Stages after playing 2023 performances. It is the 9th longest running off-Broadway musical in history.

Roundabout Theatre Company (Todd Haimes, Artistic Director) presents Victor Garber in Noël Coward's Present Laughter, directed by Nicholas Martin. Previews began January 2, 2010 with an Opening Night set for January 21, 2010. The production will be a limited engagement.

On Wednesday, January 6, the current cast of ALTAR BOYZ, in addition to cast alum, presented a $203,916 check to Broadway Cares/Equity Fights Aids that the show raised for the organization at New World Stages.

Reports are circulating that the off-Broadway Hit, ALTAR BOYZ, may be getting big screen treatment and that Tony-winning Avenue Q librettist Jeff Whitty has been tapped by the show's creators to adapt the script for the film.

On December 14, Joe's Pub showcased the second annual concert presentation of New York City Christmas, featuring special guests Sherie Rene Scott and Raul Esparza. Tony Award winner Harriet Harris hosted the event, which was presented by ASTEP (Artists Striving to End Poverty) and Sh-K-Boom/Ghostlight Records. Stafford Arima (London's Ragtime, Altar Boyz) directed the concert.

Following a triumphant December 2008 benefit concert, ASTEP (Artists Striving to End Poverty) and Sh-K-Boom / Ghostlight Records have announced the album release of 'New York City Christmas.' Producers, Jeffrey Seller and Kevin McCollum, will resurrect the infamous flop musical CARRIE for a 29-hour Equity of the musical that had a notoriously short 3 night, 5 performance run on Broadway in 1988. The CARRIE reading will take place today, Friday, November 20th. The hope is to bring 'Carrie' and her supernatural powers back to the Broadway stage.
