It's the halfway point of the 11-day, 168-show Minnesota Fringe Festival. I've seen 29 shows in the last 6 days, with 20+ more scheduled for the final 5 days of the fest. The new system of daily wristbands that get you into any and all shows that day seems to be working great. The handy Fringe website has all the information you'll need about schedule, venues, cast and creative team, and reviews from people who have already seen the show. The Fringe continues through Sunday August 14, so there's still time to get your Fringe on!

Totem Pole Playhouse, Pennsylvania's premiere summer theatre located in Caledonia State Park between Gettysburg and Chambersburg, PA, presents the return of one of the most successful musicals in playhouse's 66-year history, Forever Plaid, running from June 17 through July 3. This all-new production is directed and choreographed by Christine O'Grady, who choreographed Totem Pole's critically-acclaimed production, Shenandoah, last season and audience favorite, Godspell, the previous summer. The show features over 20 hit songs from the 1950s including such classics as: "Three Coins in the Fountain," "Heart and Soul," "Moments to Remember," "Perfidia," and "Love is a Many Splendored Thing." The show, which is being produced by Theatre A Go-Go, Inc., is sponsored by Edward Jones and Richards Orthopaedic Center. Franklin County Visitors Bureau serves as the sponsor for the 2016 season.

Four guys who loved to sing - Sparky, Smudge, Jinx and Frankie - were on their way up as a musical group. They'd practiced in the basement of Smudge's family's plumbing supply company until they had all their moves and harmonies perfect. When they finally booked a gig, they knew they were going to be just like their idols The Four Freshmen, The Hi-Lo's and The Crew Cuts. Their future was bright. Then a bus accident lead to tragedy...but not for long. The moment their lives ended, the magical story of 'Forever Plaid' began, and now it's your chance to enjoy the four-part harmony of songs like 'No Not Much,' 'Cry,' and 'Heart and Soul' as they return from the great beyond, just for you!
