BWW Review: Last Call for Boarding MUD BLUE SKY

Bridge Repertory Theater of Boston concludes its third season with Marisa Wegrzyn's MUD BLUE SKY. Tickets are available for three remaining shows this weekend. Director Bridget Kathleen O'Leary draws colorful performances from Leigh Barrett, Deb Martin, and Veronica Anastasio Wiseman as three world-weary flight attendants, and Kaya Simmons as their adolescent pot-dealer.

Dozens of stars from TV, sports, music and film will ante up and bet big to support talented young cancer researchers and change the future of cancer at Tower Cancer Research Foundation's (Tower) 3rd Annual Ante Up for a Cancer Free Generation Poker Tournament and Casino Night on Saturday, June 4, 2016 at the Sofitel Hotel, Riviera 31, 8555 Beverly Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90048.  Samantha Harris, host of Entertainment Tonight, and former host of Dancing with the Stars, who is a breast cancer survivor, will be honored with the inaugural Cancer Free Generation Mission Award.  Red carpet arrivals begin at 6:00 PM PST.

Spinning Tree Theatre to Present LADY DAY AT EMERSON'S BAR AND GRILL, 8/11-28

It's midnight in March of 1959 at a seedy bar in Philadelphia. The audience is about to witness one of Billie Holiday's final appearances, just four months before her death. In between funny and heartbreaking stories about her life and career, "Lady Day" sings her most beloved songs including "What a Little Moonlight Can Do," "Crazy He Calls Me," "God Bless the Child" and "Strange Fruit."

Citrus Singers Set for ON THE SPOT at Broadway Comedy Club

'On The Spot' is the only show in New York City that combines the dulcet tones of cabaret, with frantic hilarity of improv comedy. It has been in existence for over a year, and will soon celebrate the six-month anniversary of its open ended weekly run at the Broadway Comedy Club. It has an excellent critical reputation, being described as 'spot-on', 'fun-filled', 'top-notch' and 'laugh-out-loud'. As well as being 'a show that takes 'anything for a laugh' to new heights of bravery!' (Hi! Drama, Ludus NYC, Culture Catch) Audiences love it, and singers between shows love coming down between gigs to contribute to the fun. Guest artists have included Brian Falduto, better known as the hilarious young stylist 'Fancypants' in Richard Linklater's 'School of Rock', as well as Amanda Nicholas, one of the stars of cult Off-Broadway Sensation 'Bayside! The Musical!, and Billboard Top 40 singer Janine Berenson. It's clearly a show with staying power.

Jazz Vocalist Laurie Krauz & Musical Director Daryl Kojak to Reprise 'Greatest Hits' Show at Metropolitan Room Celebrating Their 25-Year Collaboration, 7/12 at 7 PM

On May 13, 2006 in the highly praised monthly series at the Metropolitan Room, New York Cabaret's Greatest Hits (Produced by Stephen Hanks; Associate Producer Fr. Jeffrey Hamblin, MD), multiple Award-winning jazz vocalist Laurie Krauz and her long-time Musical Director Daryl Kojak staged a show that was 25 years in the making. To celebrate their quarter-century collaboration, Krauz & Kojak performed a set of their favorite and most-loved numbers, not only bringing a packed room to its feet but also generating across-the-board raves from reviewers (below). Official: CATS Finds Its Grizabella- Leona Lewis Will Play the Glamour Cat on Broadway!

Producers The Shubert Organization and The Nederlander Organization announced today that chart-topping British pop star Leona Lewis will play the role of 'Grizabella,' the Glamour Cat, in the first-ever Broadway revival of Andrew Lloyd Webber's record-breaking musical, CATS. One of the biggest hits in theatrical history, CATS will return to Broadway this summer at the Neil Simon Theatre (250 W 52nd Street) with preview performances beginning Thursday, July 14, 2016, and an official opening set for Sunday, July 31, 2016.
