Signature Theatre's Board of Trustees announced today the appointment of Paige Evans as Artistic Director beginning July 1, 2016. She succeeds Founding Artistic Director James Houghton, who will step down at the end of June. Ms. Evans comes to Signature Theatre from Lincoln Center Theater, where she has served as Artistic Director of LCT3 since its inception in 2008.

The Matrix Theatre Company honors Black History Month with the Los Angeles premiere of The Mountaintop, directed by Obie Award-winner Roger Guenveur Smith and starring Larry Bates and Danielle Mone Truitt. Recipient of London's 2010 Olivier Award, Katori Hall's gripping and often humorous re-imagining of events the night before the assassination of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. takes on new meaning with the advent of the Black Lives Matter movement. In a special limited engagement, Signature Theatre presents the world premiere production ofGeorgie: My Adventures with George Rose written and performed by Broadway veteran Ed Dixon (Broadway's Anything Goes, Signature's Sunset Boulevard). Directed by Eric Schaeffer (Broadway's Gigi, Follies, and Million Dollar Quartet), this one-man play chronicles Dixon's relationship with his friend and mentor, the Tony-award winning character actor George Rose (The Mystery of Edwin Drood, My Fair Lady, Pirates of Penzance).
