Signature Theatre Announces Cast for Regional Premiere of THE FLICK

Signature Theatre has announced the cast of The Flick directed by Joe Calarco (Signature's Cake Off, Shakespeare's R&J). The Flick follows the story of three employees at a crumbling Massachusetts movie theatre and was called "the best argument anyone has yet made for the continued necessity, and profound uniqueness, of theater' by New York Magazine. Annie Baker's Pulitzer Prize-winning play will receive its DC area premiere in Signature Theatre's intimate ARK Theatre, March 1 - April 17.

Christian Conn Leads Michael Kahn-Helmed THE METROMANIACS at The Old Globe Beginning Today

The Old Globe today announced the complete cast and creative team for the West Coast premiere of THE METROMANIACS by supremely clever playwright David Ives (All in the Timing, Time Flies). This uproarious new 'translaptation' of a classic French farce, Alexis Piron's La Metromanie, will be directed by one of America's most renowned stage directors, Michael Kahn, presented in association with Shakespeare Theatre Company.

World Premiere of Jen Silverman's THE MOORS Begins Run at Yale Rep Today

Yale Repertory Theatre presents the world premiere of THE MOORS by Jen Silverman, directed by Jackson Gay, beginning tonight, January 29, where it will run through February 20 at Yale Repertory Theatre (1120 Chapel Street). Opening Night is Thursday, February 4.

Brandon Ivie Directs UW Musical Theater Program's THE 25TH ANNUAL PUTNAM COUNTY SPELLING BEE, Beginning Today

University of Washington alum Brandon Ivie directs the second annual production of the newly established Musical Theater Program at the University of Washington. The production, THE 25TH ANNUAL PUTNAM COUNTY SPELLING BEE, which begins performances tonight, will unite working professionals like Ivie and musical director Jordyn Meeker with undergraduates enrolled in the program.

Porchlight Music Theatre's ICONS Gala to Honor E. Faye Butler

Porchlight Music Theatre and Artistic Director Michael Weber are proud to announce the 2016 ICONS Gala celebrating the legendary woman whose name is synonymous with Broadway, Ethel Merman, Sunday, May 1, 2016 11:00 a.m. - 2 p.m., at the Grand Ballroom, InterContinental Chicago Magnificent Mile, 505 N. Michigan Ave. The Gala includes performances from Chicago's leading talents celebrating the rich career of Merman, the presentation of the 2016 Guy Adkins Award for Excellence in the Advancement of Music Theatre in Chicago to E. Faye Butler and silent and live auctions. Proceeds from the event and its accompanying auction benefit Porchlight's educational programs and productions. Signature Theatre's OLD HATS, Starring Bill Irwin and David Shiner, Begins Tonight

Signature Theatre presents a special return engagement of OLD HATS, created and performed by Bill Irwin and David Shiner, with music and lyrics by and featuring Shaina Taub, directed by Tina Landau. The production begins performances tonight, January 26, and will now play an extended run through April 3, 2016 with a Thursday, February 18 opening night in The Irene Diamond Stage at The Pershing Square Signature Center (480 West 42nd Street between 9th and 10th Avenues).
