Theatre of NOTE has announced the 19th Annual Hollywood Performance Marathon, today, January 18 beginning at 3pm and continuing until dawn, at Theatre of NOTE, 1517 N. Cahuenga Blvd. (just North of Sunset) in Hollywood.
Theatre at St. Clement's will host the World Premiere of The Clearing, written by Jake Jeppson (Jerome Fellowship recipient) and directed by Josh Hecht (Drama Desk Award winner for Christine Jorgensen Reveals). The Clearing runs Off-Broadway now through February 9, 2014. Previews began January 15 for a January 19 opening. Sosko play three Civil War re-enactors in the world premiere of Jessica Dickey's dark comedy, Row After Row, directed by Daniella Topol, Women's Project Theater's Producing Artistic Director Julie Crosby announced. The Flea Theater presents the World Premiere of Brian Watkins' My Daughter Keeps Our Hammer. It will be directed by Flea Resident Director Danya Taymor (I Hate Mexicans) featuring members of The Bats, the resident acting company at The Flea. The Flea Theater has announced the World Premiere of Mallery Avidon's MARY-KATE OLSEN IS IN LOVE. This satire about love and growing-up and "being real" will be directed by Flea Resident Director Kristen Seemel and feature members of The Bats. Previews begin November 1 with opening slated for November 18. Says Producing Director Carol Ostrow, "this witty and wise play by on-the-rise writer Mallery Avidon tackles the notion of love, sex and marriage and the challenges of 20-somethings who think they know how to have it all."

On Sunday, September 22 New Georges held their BIG Benefit at Seamen's House, a private townhouse in Chelsea. The fundraiser featured a special performance by Eisa Davis and short plays and songs written specifically for the event by Laura Eason, Boo Killebrew, Julie Kramer, Rachel Peters and Charise Castro Smith, featuring Heidi Schreck, Maria-Christina Oliveras, Amy Wilson, Stephanie Wright Thompson, Eric Clem and others. At a benefit event held for New Georges on Sunday, September 22, Producing Artistic Director Susan Bernfield and board member Michael Osso announced a new program at New Georges, The Audrey Residencies, and the artists and projects chosen for 2013-14, the program's inaugural year. Sunday's event also featured the premiere showing of a video about New Georges produced by tdf for tdfSTAGES' Meet the Theatre series and directed by Mark Blankenship, tdf's online content editor, to be released in early November.
Building upon his 2010 production, TOM RYAN THINKS HE'S JAMES MASON STARRING IN A MOVIE BY NICHOLAS RAY…Daniel Fish reunites with actors Christina Rouner and Thomas Jay Ryan on a new work that fuses theater, cinema, and environmental installation. ETERNAL is Fish's most conceptually ambitious production to date. In August, Fish assembled a film crew to shoot Ryan and Rouner performing the final scene of the 2004 film ETERNAL SUNSHINE OF THE SPOTLESS MIND in a continuous loop for two hours - the only constraint: that they must keep going, no matter what happens. The unedited two channel video of their performance will be projected on screens that face each other from across the space. The audience sits between the lovers.

This radical re-telling of the events leading up to the Salem Witch Trials will be directed by Rebecca Wright featuring members of The Bats. Previews begin tonight, September 24 with opening slated for October 6. The Flea's Producing Director Carol Ostrow says, 'bringing Shaplin's work and his team of collaborators together with The Bats will be one of the most combustible theatrical events of the season.'
