The Wallace Collection and Via Brooklyn proudly present The Collection, an original work by playwright Tristan Bernays. The Collection will be directed by Lucy Jane Atkinson. This immersive theatre experience, filled with history and music, will breathe new life into the Wallace Collection and allow the audience to explore the galleries as they have never been seen before.
This November, the Nuyorican Poets Cafe presents two nights of performances that fuse traditional Japanese art forms with contemporary creative practices. A musician plucks sounds from the air using a laser interface combined with a 1,300-year-old instrument; a dancer melds the elegant movements of ancient warriors with ballet; and a calligrapher uses a centuries-old practice to reveal a new language hidden within our electronic communications.

Queens-based Rude Grooms will mount a limited Halloween engagement of the rarely seen 1621 play The Witch of Edmonton in partnership with The Astorian and Long Island City Artists. The play was written by William Rowley, Thomas Dekker, and John Ford and will be led by actor-manager Kate Pitt (The Way of the World at the Folger Theatre, Rude Grooms' Much Ado About Nothing) and associate produced by Emma Montoya Hills (Associate General Manager, HERE Arts Center). Folger Theatre today announced the world premiere of Confection, an immersive theater piece imagined and performed by New York's acclaimed theater company, Third Rail Projects. Confection is conceived and written by Zach Morris, directed and choreographed by Zach Morris, with Tom Pearson and Jennine Willett, and created in collaboration with the company. The commission of Confection by Folger Theatre is in association with Before 'Farm to Table': Early Modern Foodways and Cultures, a Mellon initiative in collaborative research, convened by the Folger Institute.
The world premiere of Martin McDonagh's A Very Very Very Dark Matter at the Bridge Theatre is directed by Matthew Dunster. The cast comprises Johnetta Eula'Mae Ackles, Alistair Benson, Elizabeth Berrington, Paul Bradley, Noah Brignull, Jim Broadbent, Phil Daniels, Regan Garcia, Leo Hart, Graeme Hawley, Audrey Hayhurst, Kundai Kanyama, Lee Knight, Jamie McKie, Ryan Pope, James Roberts, Alice Selwyn, Austin Taylor, Amelia Walter and Annabelle Westenholz-Smith including nine children who will alternate a variety of roles. The 12-week run will conclude on 6 January 2019. Chicago Shakespeare Theater announces the cast for the North American premiere of Jessica Swale's exuberant new comedy Nell Gwynn, September 20-November 4, 2018. The music- and dance-filled play took London audiences by storm when it debuted at Shakespeare's Globe, followed by a celebrated run on the West End. Director of the original London production, Christopher Luscombe, helms the new Chicago Shakespeare production. Star of Broadway and the West End Scarlett Strallen appears as Nell; Chicago leading actor Timothy Edward Kane performs the role of King Charles II.
Production images are today released for the world premiere of Vulcan 7, a new comedy written by and co-starring Adrian Edmondson and Nigel Planer, well known for the BRIT award-winning cult classic The Young Ones and The Comic Strip Presents… The cast is completed by Lois Chimimba (Common, wonder.land) with Steven Marmion directing.
Eyam, a place located in Derbyshire that has a law to its own. Isolated from the rest of the country, it has become a microcosm of anarchy, upheaval and deprivation. The villagers play by their own rules, shown quite clearly in the opening scenes with the hanging of their Reverend. Rallying together they tie a noose around his neck, watching as gravity does its job and crows of death circle above.

Artistic Director of Deafinitely Theatre, Paula Garfield, directs Adam Bassett, Brian Duffy, Jim Fish and Matt Kyle.
