NJPAC Celebrates The Legacy of SHAMSUDDIN ABDUL-HAMIDS

New Jersey Performing Arts Center (NJPAC) will celebrate the memory, spirit and legacy of Shamsuddin Abdul-Hamid, affectionately known as "Sham. Sham's memorial gathering will be a joyful remembrance, including performances and tributes by those who knew and loved him and his friends at NJPAC.  "At the age of 25, Sham left a legacy of impressive achievements," said NJPAC President and CEO John Schreiber. "Sham grew up in NJPAC's Arts Education Department, from the seventh grade to high school graduation, and returned later as a college intern, then as a teacher, to guide others to love performance as he did. We are overwhelmed with sadness of his untimely death, and he will live forever in our hearts."

Photo Flash: 46 BEACON, Starring Oliver Coopersmith and Jay Taylor, Debuts in the West End

Oliver Coopersmith (Netflix's I-Boy and the lead in forthcoming Sky Atlantic series Tin Star opposite Tim Roth and Christina Hendricks) and Jay Taylor (Prime Suspect 1973, Nell Gwynn and Wolf Hall/Bring up the Bodies) will star in the West End debut of 46 Beacon, playing the roles of Alan and Robert respectively in this coming-of-age and coming-out play set in 1970's America.

The Old Vic Presents the Premiere of COVER MY TRACKS

Cover My Tracks, a new production with live music, starring Charlie Fink and Jade Anouka will be performed at The Old Vic from Monday 5 to Saturday 17 June at 10pm, as part of Lates at The Old Vic.

Deafinitely Theatre Adds Extra Date to Tour of SOMETHING ELSE

Deafinitely Theatre today announces an extra date for its adaptation of Kathryn Cave's much loved children's book Something Else.  The production will now show at Pegasus Oxford on 2 June, in addition to the previously announced Claremont High School Academy in Brent (school performance), Derby Theatre, a fundraising gala at Wyndham's Theatre (invite only) and the actacentre in Bristol. 

Get Ready to Guffaw! Meet the Full Company of PRESENT LAUGHTER, Opening Tonight on Broadway

Present Laughter, starring Academy Award- and two-time Tony Award-winner Kevin Kline in his triumphant return to Broadway, opens tonight, April 5th, at the St. James Theatre (246 West 44th Street). Cincinnati Shakespeare Company Announces the 2017 PROJECT38 Festival

Cincinnati Shakespeare Company is pleased to continue their groundbreaking arts education initiative titled PROJECT38 with the public FREE PROJECT38 Festival!  CSC teaching artists have spent over 250 hours this school year working with over 1,600 students at more than 45 different schools to bring each of Shakespeare's 38 plays to life in creative ways.  On April 20-23, 2017 all of the Cincinnati community will get to experience these amazing performances at a weekend-long free festival in downtown Cincinnati!  Running from Thursday, April 20 and concluding on Sunday April 23 (Shakespeare's birthday), Memorial Hall will be full of 45 hours of free arts events for the entire community! Additional free Performances and Workshops will occur in Washington Park on Sunday April 23, in celebration of the Bard's birthday. Last year, the PROJECT38 Festival drew over 5,000 people to OTR. 

James Pidgeon Appointed Director of Shoreditch Town Hall

???????Shoreditch Town Hall today announces the appointment of James Pidgeon as its new Director.  He is currently Deputy Director of the venue and previously held the role of Programme Manager and Producer.  He replaces Nick Giles who is leaving to pursue new consulting and leadership opportunities in the arts and third sector.

Theatre Royal Bath Productions has today released production photography of Mike Leigh's Abigail's Party starring Amanda Abbington and directed by Sarah Esdaile. Celebrating the 40th anniversary of the classic comedy, the production opened at Theatre Royal Bath and has its official opening night for press on Thursday 6 April at Oxford Playhouse before continuing on its UK Tour and to London's West End. HAMLET to Transfer to Harold Pinter Theatre Following Sold-Out Run at Almeida Theatre

Olivier Award-winning director, Robert Icke's (Mary Stuart, The Red Barn, Uncle Vanya, Oresteia, Mr Burns and 1984), ground-breaking and electrifying production of William Shakespeare's Hamlet, starring BAFTA award-winner Andrew Scott (Moriarty in BBC's Sherlock, Denial, Spectre, Design For Living and Cock) in the title role, will transfer to the Harold Pinter Theatre, following a critically acclaimed and sell out run at the Almeida Theatre.

Theatr Clwyd Announces 2017 Summer and Autumn Seasons

As she completes her first year as Artistic Director of Theatr Clwyd, Tamara Harvey today announces the 2017 Summer and Autumn seasons for the company. These include four world premieres; BoHo, a co-production with Hijinx Theatre which features both learning disabled and non-disabled actors, and, after a successful collaboration on the production of Love Lies and Taxidermy, Theatr Clwyd reunites with Paines Plough to open the 2017 Roundabout Season with co-productions of Black Mountain, Out Of Love and How To Be A Kid in collaboration with the Orange Tree Theatre. The Theatr Clwyd and Sheffield Theatres co-production of a new adaptation of Anton Chekhov's Uncle Vanya, by Welsh Playwright Peter Gill, will be directed by Harvey and will open at Clwyd from the 21 September ahead of transferring to Sheffield Theatres as part of Robert Hastie's inaugural season.
