Marsha Mason Stars In ALLS WELL THAT ENDS WELL At Shakespeare Theatre Co

The Shakespeare Theatre Company is currently casting for the first play of the 2010 - 2011 Season: All's Well That Ends Well. Most roles have been filled and an Academy Award Nominee joins the ranks. Marsha Mason makes her STC debut to star as the Countess of Rosillion.

WAPAVA Honors Kahn with Bauer Award

The Board of the Washington Area Performing Arts Video Archive (WAPAVA) announced today that the sixth Richard Bauer Award will be presented to Michael Kahn, artistic director of the Shakespeare Theatre Company, for his outstanding achievements in Washington-area theatre. The award is presented to members of the Washington-area theatre community whose work is represented in WAPAVA's archive, the James J. Taylor Collection, at the Michelle Smith Performing Arts Library, in the Clarice Smith Performing Arts Center at the University of Maryland, College Park, MD, and at DC's Martin Luther King Jr. Library. The award is named for the late beloved Washington actor who is best known for his many years at Arena Stage.

The Nora Theatre Company Presents A Moon for the Misbegotten 10/7-11/7

The Nora Theatre Company opens their season with a revival of Eugene O'Neill's enduring masterpiece, A Moon for the Misbegotten. Directed by Richard McElvain, A Moon for the Misbegotten plays at Central Square Theater from Thursday, October 7th through Sunday, November 7th. The press performance is scheduled for Sunday, October 10 at 2 PM.

Barron, Borland And More Lead MTC's SPIRIT CONTROL, Previews 10/7

Lynne Meadow (Artistic Director) and Barry Grove (Executive Producer) are pleased to announce full casting for the Manhattan Theatre Club world premiere production of Beau Willimon's SPIRIT CONTROL, directed by Henry Wishcamper (Graceland, Port Authority).

Olney Theatre Extends DINNER WITH FRIENDS thru 10/3

Donald Margulies's Pulitzer Prize-winning Dinner With Friends at Olney Theatre Center has been extended to Sunday, October 3. The Washington Post calls the Olney production an 'exacting, unsettling drama.' The Frederick News-Post declares, 'Dinner With Friends shines on Olney Theatre Center's black box stage.'

Annette Bening To Receive Will Award from Shakespeare Theatre Co., 10/3

Annette Bening will receive this year's Will Award, presented by the Shakespeare Theatre Company, the Washington Post reports. Early in her career, Bening acted in Shakespeare's plays, as well as other classical theatre, at San Francisco's American Conservatory Theatre. More recently, she has appeared in MEDEA and THE CHERRY ORCHARD, as well as the 1995 film version of Richard III.

Olney Presents DINNER WITH FRIENDS, 8/25-9/26

No one ever said marriage was easy, as Donald Margulies's Pulitzer Prize-winning Dinner With Friends reveals. Dinner With Friends plays the Mulitz-Gudelsky Theatre Lab August 25 through September 26.
