GHOST LIGHT Plays Berkeley Rep, Previews January 6

Berkeley Repertory Theatre begins the New Year with the world-premiere production of Ghost Light, a new play conceived and developed by Jonathan Moscone and Tony Taccone.

STC Presents Two Gentlemen of Verona (a rock opera)

The Shakespeare Theatre Company continues celebrating its 25th Anniversary Season with the second installment of the Bard's Broadway series with the Tony Award winning musical Two Gentlemen of Verona (a rock opera) performing January 27-29, 2012 at Sidney Harman Hall (610 F Street NW). Galt MacDermot, John Guare and Mel Shapiro come together to create the music, lyrics and book that add a spicy, funky twist to Shakespeare's work of the same name.

Robin de Jesus and Javier Muñoz to Lead STC's TWO GENTLEMAN OF VERONA Concert

As part of the 25th Anniversary, Shakespeare Theatre Company celebrates Shakespeare through song and verse. A musical interpretation of the Bard's work will be performed in concert-style staging as additions to the regular season. The limited engagement will be presented with live music and featuring, Tony nominee Robin de Jesus and Javier Muñoz, according to de Jesus' Facebook page. Jimonn Cole, Brandon Gill, Evan Todd to Star in Old Globe's THE RECOMENDATION

The Old Globe today announced the cast and creative team for the World Premiere of Jonathan Caren's hard-hitting drama, The Recommendation. Directed by Jonathan Munby, The Recommendation will run Jan. 21 - Feb. 26, 2012 in the Sheryl and Harvey White Theatre, part of the Globe's Conrad Prebys Theatre Center. Preview performances run Jan. 21 - Jan. 25. Opening night is Thursday, Jan. 26 at 8:00 p.m. Tickets can be purchased online at www.TheOldGlobe.org, by phone at (619) 23-GLOBE or by visiting the Box Office at 1363 Old Globe Way in Balboa Park.

STC Announces Winter/Spring 2012 Happenings at the Harman

The Shakespeare Theatre Company announces the Winter/Spring 2012 schedule for Happenings at the Harman, a free programming series offered Wednesdays at noon held in the Forum in Sidney Harman Hall (610 F St. NW).

Huntington Theatre Company completes its 30th Anniversary Season with the world premiere of Captors by Evan M. Wiener (Monogamy) and directed by Huntington Artistic Director Peter DuBois, and Noel Coward's stylish, savvy comedy Private Lives, directed by Tony Award nominee Maria Aitken (Alfred Hitchcock's The 39 Steps).
