MUCH ADO ABOUT NOTHING Begins Tonight at Shakespeare Theatre of NJ

The Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey's 2014 Season will conclude with the Bard's beloved battle of wits, Much Ado About Nothing. Renowned Stratford Festival artist Scott Wentworth will perform 'double duty,' directing the production and playing the staunch bachelor Benedick, opposite his real-life wife Marion Adler as the feisty Beatrice. This production will celebrate the winter holiday season, filled with music and dance that evokes the end of World War II, White Christmas era. Performances begin tonight, December 3rd at the F.M. Kirby Shakespeare Theatre, 36 Madison Ave. (at Lancaster Road) in Madison.

THE NUTCRACKER Musical Plays the Round House Theatre, Now thru 12/28

Round House Theatre continues its 2014/15 season with a magical, fresh new take on a beloved classic - The Nutcracker, a new holiday musical created by Tommy Rapley, Jake Minton, Phillip Klapperich, and Kevin O'Donnell. Directed by the award-winning Joe Calarco, The Nutcracker makes its area premiere at Round House Theatre from tonight, November 26 thru December 28, 2014.

The Shakespeare Theatre Company Presents William Shakespeare's THE TEMPEST

The Shakespeare Theatre Company (STC) continues its 2014-2015 mainstage season with one of William Shakespeare's late masterpieces,The Tempest. STC Affiliated Artist Ethan McSweeny, following his imaginative production of A Midsummer Night's Dream two seasons ago, applies his flair for visual panache to The Tempest, in which sprites, goddesses and fools hold court. The Tempest will play at the Sidney Harman Hall (610 F Street NW) from December 2, 2014-January 11, 2015.

BWW Interviews: Talking with Tevye, Jonathan Hadary of Arena Stage's FIDDLER ON THE ROOF

As the landmark American musical FIDDLER ON THE ROOF celebrates its 50th anniversary, Arena Stage is bringing the show to audiences new and old in production on the intimate and iconic Fichlander Stage. Arena's artistic director Molly Smith directs the production which features the original Jerome Robbins choreography adapted and restaged by Parker Esse. Jeffrey Walker of BroadwayWorld-DC caught up with actors Ann Arvia and Jonathan Hadary who play Golde and Tevye in the new production which is wowing audiences and dazzling critics each night. Hadary and Arvia make their Arena Stage debut performances in Bock, Harnick, Stein's musical masterpiece. This is part two: Jeffrey Walker's interview with Jonathan Hadary.

Shakespeare Theatre Company Unveils New Free Ticket Program

The Shakespeare Theatre Company (STC) launched today FREE WILL, a new initiative that will distribute 1,000 free tickets to every mainstage production of its 2014-2015 Season. This program expands the mission of the annual Free For All to make theatre completely accessible for all residents of D.C. Metro area. FREE WILL launches with As You Like It, and will continue through the season, building up to summer 2015 and the celebration of the 25th annual Free For All performance.

Shakespeare Theatre Company Extends AS YOU LIKE IT Thru 12/14

The Shakespeare Theatre Company announces an extension of its current production of As You Like It, by William Shakespeare, directed by Michael Attenborough, with Associate Director Alan Paul. As You Like It now plays through December 14, 2014, at the Lansburgh Theatre (450 7th Street NW).

Karen Carpenter Directs HANDLE WITH CARE at the Colony Theatre, Now thru 12/14

The Colony Theatre will present the third production of its historic 40thAnniversary season, the West Coast Premiere of HANDLE WITH CARE by Jason Odell Williams, directed by Karen Carpenter. HANDLE WITH CARE will preview tonight, November 5; Thursday, November 6; and Friday, November 7 at 8:00pm. It will open on Saturday, November 8 at 8:00pm and continue through Sunday, December 14, with no performances Thanksgiving week.
