Deirdre Kinahan's family drama MOMENT has had several productions to date, including here in the United States, but Studio's production marks the DC premiere. The Shakespeare Theatre Company announces the launch of a new website, upgrading the look and functionality of ShakespeareTheatre.org to meet the demands of today's audiences. The new design represents the culmination of a dedicated effort by members of the STC marketing team working with The Jake Group marketing/design firm over the past year. After extensive study into the existing website's analytics, user behavior and page traffic, The Jake Group and STC staff put together a website experience that will be significantly easier to navigate, will put ticket sales front and center and will make all the content the Company creates for its productions and programs easier to explore.
Following the Free For All 25th Anniversary performances of A Midsummer Night's Dream directed by Ethan McSweeny, the Shakespeare Theatre Company's (STC) production will travel to Macao, China, to perform this striking rendition of Shakespeare's iconic comedy at the 27th annual celebration of the Macao Arts Festival (MAF), which begins April 30 and lasts until May 29. In commemoration of the 400th anniversaries of William Shakespeare's and famed Chinese playwright Tan Xianzu's deaths, the MAF will present shows in tribute to these two virtuosos, including STC's A Midsummer Night's Dream. McSweeny's production will kick off the festival with performances on April 30 and May 1, 2016 at 8:00 p.m.

Shakespeare Theatre Company proves once again their place as one of the nation's finest classical theatre companies with a new production of OTHELLO. Starring Pakistani-American Faran Tahir in the title role, this OTHELLO is filtered through the lens of Othello as a Muslim who has adopted Western dress and religion. The concept works and the tragedy still works as one of Shakespeare's best.

Off-Broadway's acclaimed Classic Stage Company today announced plans for its 2016-17 season, led by incoming Artistic Director John Doyle and Managing Director Jeff Griffin. Doyle, a Tony Award winner for Sweeney Todd and the director of Broadway's highly-praised new production of The Color Purple, assumes the artistic leadership of CSC beginning in July, succeeding Brian Kulick, who has led the company since 2003. For CSC, Doyle has directed Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine's Passion and Rodgers & Hammerstein's Allegro, and later this season will direct Henrik Ibsen's Peer Gynt.
Cleveland Play House's (CPH) monumental 100th Season continues with the regional premiere of LUNA GALE today. CPH welcomes back film and stage legend Austin Pendleton to direct this contemporary drama that begs the question 'To whom do you belong?' Written by Rebecca Gilman, recipient of the 2015 Roe Green Award, LUNA GALE runs today, February 27 through March 20 in the intimate Allen Theatre.
