Broadway and Australian stage vet Anthony Warlow will return to Broadway when he steps into the roles of 'Charles Frohman' and 'Captain Hook', beginning today, July 10. Warlow will remain in the show until September 13, when Kelsey Grammer, who originated the role on Broadway, returns as Captain of the pirate ship.

Women's Voices Theater Festival organizers today announced that First Lady of the United States of America Michelle Obama will serve as Honorary Chair of the Women's Voices Theater Festival, which unites more than 50 professional theater companies in the nation's capital region, September through October 2015. She joins a prestigious group of theater artists and advocates on the Honorary Committee supporting the Festival's mission to celebrate the work of women in theater. Additionally, eight ancillary events sponsored by The Washington Post have been announced during the Festival, to be hosted by the seven originating theaters-Arena Stage, Ford's Theatre, Round House Theatre, Shakespeare Theatre Company, Signature Theatre, Studio Theatre and Woolly Mammoth Theatre Company-along with Festival participant Theater J.

The Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey is thrilled to present a world premiere adaptation of Ferenc Molnar's The Guardsman - translated from the original Hungarian by Molnar's great grandson Gabor Lukin and adapted and directed by Artistic Director Bonnie J. Monte. Performances begin Wednesday, July 8th and continue through Sunday, July 26th at the F.M. Kirby Shakespeare Theatre, 36 Madison Avenue (at Lancaster Road) in Madison. We reported it first last week, and now it's official as word is just in that Broadway and Australian stage vet Anthony Warlow will return to Broadway this summer when he steps into the roles of "Charles Frohman" and "Captain Hook" in mid-July. There is still no word on the star's exact start date, or the reason for Kelsey Grammer's temporary departure. Warlow will remain in the show until September 13, when Kelsey Grammer, who originated the role on Broadway, returns as Captain of the pirate ship.

The complete cast and creative team have been announced for the West Coast Premiere of Ken Ludwig's Baskerville: A Sherlock Holmes Mystery, a new work by one of America's great comic playwrights, familiar to millions for Lend Me a Tenor and Crazy for You. Baskerville is directed by Josh Rhodes, who previously choreographed the Globe's productions of Bright Star and Working, as well as Broadway's It Shoulda Been You, First Date, and Rodgers + Hammerstein's Cinderella. The Old Globe engagement will begin performances on July 24, with opening night on Thursday, July 30 at 8:00 p.m., in the Sheryl and Harvey White Theatre, part of the Globe's Conrad Prebys Theatre Center. Although originally scheduled to run through August 23, Baskerville has been extended by popular demand through August 30, 2015!

Fresh from numerous successful workshop performances in New York City, Washington, D.C., and Warsaw, Poland, My Report to the World: The Story of Jan Karski, is headed for enhanced development and public staged reading performances this July, in a workshop residency to be held at the Museum of Jewish Heritage in downtown Manhattan. As part of this Residency, one performance will be held in D.C. on Monday, July 20 at 7:30 p.m. at the Shakespeare Theatre Company's Lansburgh Theatre in D.C., co-sponsored by the US Holocaust Memorial Museum and in partnership with Bisno Productions, and The Jan Karski Educational Foundation.
