Cincinnati Shakespeare Company has announced the 2014 FREE Shakespeare in the Park Tour presented by PNC! This year's tour is bigger than ever with 26 performances of "Macbeth" and "A Midsummer Night's Dream" throughout the Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky area at local community parks and venues. These performances are FREE and open to the public! "A Midsummer Night's Dream" is directed by CSC Ensemble Member Nicholas Rose and "Macbeth" is directed by CSC Ensemble Member Miranda McGee. The cast features six actors from CSC Resident Ensemble. Following the Park Tour, these shows will travel and tour to local schools, community centers, venues and other performing arts locations through May 2015. Last year, CSC's FREE Shakespeare in the Park tour had over 7,000 people in attendance!

Shakespeare & Company offers two Professional Development Workshops for educators, teaching artists and youth program directors this August led by Director of Education Kevin G. Coleman. During each six-day workshop, participants will get on their feet to perform Shakespeare's roles, stage the scenes, fight, dance and clown. During discussion periods they will explore strategies and rationale for working on the plays to enable their own students and casts to experience Shakespeare in more personally meaningful, academically rigorous and delightful ways. Workshops focus on Hamlet August 11 - 16 and Romeo & Juliet August 18 - 23.

Banned by the Lord Chamberlain for its facetious and irreverent treatment of adultery, This Was A Man, a previously unseen play by Noel Coward, directed by actress Belinda Lang, opens for its long overdue UK professional premiere in a strictly limited three week season at the Finborough Theatre tonight, 15 July 2014 (Press Night: Thursday, 17 July 2014 at 7.30pm).

The producers of Forgotten Voices, a play by Malcolm McKay based on the best-selling book Forgotten Voices of the Great War by Max Arthur, are delighted to announce the cast and special guest artists for the show's run at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe 2014. The acclaimed stars of stage and screen who will be appearing as guest artists* are: Julian Sands and Robert Vaughn (30 July - 6 August), Christopher Timothy (14 - 18 August), Robert Powell (14 and 15 August), James Fleet (20 - 25 August) and Celia Imrie (20 - 22 August). They join core cast members: Philip Fox, Geoff Leesley, Gerrard McArthur and Wendy Nottingham. *Further guest casting is to be announced.

LA Opera will soon present the first full-scale production in this century of John Corigliano's grand opera buffa, one of the most acclaimed operas of our time. Extravagantly scaled, gloriously tuneful, supremely touching and yet uproariously entertaining, The Ghosts of Versailles turns history on its head as love attempts to alter the course of destiny. Running February 7- March 1, 2015, the production will feature direction by Tony winner Darko Tresnjak.

Shakespeare & Company's Dennis Krausnick, a founder and also Director of Training, steps into the title role of Julius Caesar for a brief run beginning July 15 through August 2. Nigel Gore, who has been playing Caesar since it opened several weeks ago, takes a short-term leave from the show after this weekend's performance on Sunday July 13-Gore will be back in the role Saturday, August 9. Olivier Award winning Jenna Russell, star of the RSC, Jonathan Slinger, and EastEnders' Marc Elliott, reprise their acclaimed roles, Penelope Pennywise, Officer Lockstock and Mr. McQueen respectively, in the West End transfer of Jamie Lloyd's ground breaking, splash hit production of Urinetown The Musical.

Shakespeare & Company will offer new programs to make great theatre in the Berkshires more accessible. Our community is a priority for Shakespeare & Company, to that end the Company is now offering two new ticket deals "45 under 45" and "5 under 50." Both aim to reach our younger audiences, particularly those who have fond memories of Riotous Youth and the Fall Festival of Shakespeare. The Daily Mail writes that THE AUDIENCE, starring Helen Mirren, is on its way to Broadway. The production, helmed by Stephen Daldry and written by Peter Morgan, will begin previews in February 2015 for a March opening. Based on Stephen Frears acclaimed film, THE AUDIENCE played a sold-out run at the Gielgud last year.

The City Shakespeare Company opens the doors to its summer production of Romeo & Juliet today, July 11th. They kick off the run with a red carpet masquerade ball in honor of the famous 'ancient feast' in the story, and run through July 26th.

Commissioned by the Finborough Theatre from Cerberus Theatre, the UK premiere and the English world premiere of controversial German playwright Rolf Hochhuth's Sommer 14 - A Dance of Death in a brand new translation opens at the Finborough Theatre for a four week limited season on Tuesday, 5 August 2014 (Press Night: Thursday, 7 August at 7.30pm).

The Adirondack Shakespeare Company, known for their unique Shakespeare IN THE RAW technique, will be returning to the Adirondack region for their fifth annual Summer Festival Season this July.

A sweeping spectacle of bawdy buffoonery and bloody rebellion, director Jonathan Epstein's razor sharp and condensed adaptation of Henry IV delivers both parts in one dynamic evening of theatre. The Nora Theatre Company presents Bryony Lavery's Her Aching Heart. The production includes original music composed for this production by Veronica Barron. The piece will be the Boston directorial debut for Lee Mikeska Gardner who was appointed Artistic Director of The Nora Theatre Company in November 2013 following a national search.

Spellbound Productions present IN LAMBETH, written by Jack Shepherd, directed by Michael Kingsbury and designed by Ruth Sutcliffe. Opening night is slated for today, 11 July 2014 at 7.30pm, with the regular run continuing through Saturday 2 August 2014 (one preview 10 July).

Seattle Shakespeare Company's free Wooden O productions of The Two Gentlemen of Verona and Julius Caesar start performances tonight, July 10.
