Andris Nelsons Returning to Carnegie Hall with Boston Symphony Orchestra, 10/20-22

Carnegie Hall presents the renowned Boston Symphony Orchestra (BSO) led by Music Director Andris Nelsons in three concerts this October. The orchestra's series this season begins on Tuesday, October 20 at 8:00 p.m. with the New York premiere of Sebastian Currier's Divisions. Acclaimed pianist Paul Lewis is guest soloist in Beethoven's Piano Concerto No. 3 in C Minor, Op. 37 and the BSO and Mr. Nelsons conclude with a performance of Brahms's Symphony No. 2 in D Major, Op. 73.

On Sunday, September 20th, noted dance company, New York Theatre Ballet will present their children's ballet, CINDERELLA. With a Dancing Clock, wacky Stepsisters and everyone's favorite princess, CINDERELLA features choreography by Donald Mahler, costumes by Metropolitan Opera's Resident Costume Designer, Sylvia Taalsohn Nolan and sets by Gillian Bradshaw Smith. The classic score by Sergei Prokofiev is abridged for a one-hour presentation.

Pacific Northwest Ballet to Offer SEE THE MUSIC with Performances, Events & More, 9/25

SEATTLE, WA – Pacific Northwest Ballet opens its 2015-2016 season with SEE THE MUSIC, a terrific triple-bill of repertory works. After an eight-year hiatus, PNB welcomes the return of George Balanchine's Prodigal Son, choreographed by the ballet master at the age of 25 for Diaghilev's Ballets Russes. Another relative youngster, Christopher Wheeldon (recent Tony Award-winner for An American in Paris), shares the bill with Mr. B., represented by his dramatic Tide Harmonic, created for PNB in 2013. The program comes to a comic close with Jerome Robbins' hilarious The Concert (or, The Perils of Everybody). SEE THE MUSIC runs for seven performances only, September 25 through October 4 at Seattle Center's Marion Oliver McCaw Hall. BWW Reviews: Misty Copeland is American Ballet Theatre's Newest Juliet

On June 16, 2015, I was privileged to be in attendance at the Metropolitan Opera House for Misty Copeland's debut performance of Juliet in Sir Kenneth MacMillan's Romeo and Juliet, set to Sergei Prokofiev's exciting score. This ballet has been in ABT's repertory since 1985, with scenery and costumes by Nicholas Georgiadis and lighting by Thomas Skelton. It was first performed by The Royal Ballet at the Royal Opera House in London in 1965.

The age-old story of a cinder girl disdained by her step family but destined to change her life to glitter and gold arrived at the Milwaukee Ballet's when Cinderella closed the season. This enchanting fairytale envisioned by Artistic Director Michael Pink captivated the audience with romance and some exaggerated humor courtesy of Pink's choreography and his casting--And the accompaniment by the 50 piece Milwaukee Ballet Orchestra under the direction of Pasquale Lurino gave Sergei Prokofiev's legendary score exceptional nuances to entrance the audience.
