Award-winning actor and director David Schwimmer has signed on to star as Robert Kardashian in the FX miniseries American Crime Story: The People v. O.J. Simpson.

Theatre Communications Group (TCG) has announced the publication of Quiara Alegria Hudes's The Happiest Song Plays Last, the final play in Hudes's award-winning Elliot trilogy. In 2013, The Happiest Song Plays Last premiered at the Goodman Theatre in Chicago, with a later Off-Broadway run at New York's Second Stage Theatre in 2014. A 2015 production at the Oregon Shakespeare Festival has been announced.

Casting is complete for Second Stage Theatre presentation of the Atlantic Theater Company's production of Stephen Adly Guirgis' acclaimed play, BETWEEN RIVERSIDE AND CRAZY. Ron Cephas Jones (Of Mice of Men and 2ST's Wildflower) and Michael Rispoli (Between Riverside and Crazy at ATC) join previously announced cast members Stephen McKinley Henderson (Fences, 2ST's Jitney), Victor Almanzar (Repertorio Espanol, LAByrinth Theater), Elizabeth Canavan (The Little Flower of East Orange), Rosal Colon (The Motherf*cker with the Hat) and Liza Colon-Zayas (2ST Water by the Spoonful and Living Out).

The Old Globe today announced it will present the Second Annual New Voices Festival, a weekend of readings of new American plays by professional playwrights, December 12 - 14, 2014.

Warehouse Theatre Company will open it's 2015 season with Kenneth Lonergan's 1996 comedy This Is Our Youth. Animus Theatre Company is pleased to announce that acclaimed film, television and stage star Alexis Bledel has joined the lineup for Leslye Headland's Sin Cycle Plays (Assistance; Bachelorette; Cinephilia; Reverb; Surfer Girl; and The Accidental Blonde), their 2014 Reading Festival series in association with Circle in the Square Professional Workshop, on Monday, November 17, at Broadway's Circle in the Square Theatre. Bledel will read the role of Veronica in The Accidental Blonde.

Scenes highlighting his work will be presented at the 7th Annual 'Mimi' Awards, which will take place at Lincoln Center Theater's Mitzi E. Newhouse Theater.

The Playwrights Realm will present the world premiere of City Of by Anton Dudley, directed by Stephen Brackett (Buyer & Cellar). The production runs January 26 through February 21, 2015 with a February 5 opening at the Peter Jay Sharp Theater (416 W. 42nd Street, NYC). Tickets will go on sale to the public beginning December 29th, 2014.

2Y announces casting for Lyrics & Lyricists 2015, the 45th season of the acclaimed American Songbook series. Cady Huffman, Liz Callaway, Kate Baldwin, Peter Cincotti and Jason Danieley are among the performers interpreting the works of Stephen Sondheim; Irving Berlin; Sheldon Harnick; and such songwriters as Cole Porter, Duke Ellington and Leonard Bernstein, who so eloquently illuminated New York City's essence in song. Mitzi Gaynor makes a special guest appearance for the show on Hollywood's Leading Ladies - only the fourth time the legendary entertainer has performed in New York City.

Premiere Stages, currently celebrating its 10th anniversary as the professional Equity theatre in residence at Kean University, will welcome Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Lynn Nottage to Kean's campus on Sunday, November 16 as part of Premiere Artists, its acclaimed professional development program for Kean University students.

The Process Series at UNC will feature an engaging new work by an acclaimed playwright in November. Commissioned by the Goodman Theater in Chicago, Lauren Yee's King of the Yees will be performed November 6 and 7, 2014, at 8:00pm in Studio 6 of Swain Hall at UNC-Chapel Hill. The performance is free and open to the public with a $5 suggested donation.
