Nashville Ballet Unveils 'Bold' 2017-18 Season

Nashville Ballet boldly steps into the future with a 2017-2018 performance season that promises to showcase the full spectrum of the art, from the pinnacle of classical ballet to fearless contemporary works. The upcoming season will be rounded out by the return of highly anticipated fan favorites and the 10th year of Nashville's Nutcracker.

Kansas City Ballet School To Be Honored At Youth America Grand Prix Semi-Finals In New York City, 4/7-14

Kansas City Ballet Artistic Director Devon Carney announced today the top awards for the Kansas City Ballet School at the recent Youth America Grand Prix Regional Semi-finals held in Indianapolis, Indiana. Top honors include eight pieces selected to advance to the national finals in New York City April 7–14 as well as the award for Outstanding School and Ryan Jolicoeur-Nye as Outstanding Choreographer. 

Boston Ballet Presents Marius Petipa's THE SLEEPING BEAUTY, 4/28-5/27

Boston Ballet presents the coming-of-age fairytale The Sleeping Beauty by Marius Petipa with additional choreography by Sir Frederick Ashton. Hailed as one of the Company's trademark works, this quintessential production features soaring music by Peter Ilych Tchaikovsky and sumptuous sets and costumes by Emmy Award-winning designer David Walker. 

Nashville Ballet to Perform at JFK Center in DC, 4/17

Nashville Ballet will make its debut appearance at the famed John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, D.C. to perform The Ben Folds Project April 17-23, 2017, as a part of the Ballet Across America series. Illustrating the most exciting, innovative dance happening across America today, the program is curated by major stars of the ballet world: American Ballet Theatre Principal Dancer Misty Copeland and New York City Ballet Resident Choreographer and Soloist Justin Peck.

BWW Review: Celebrating Advocacy through the Arts with the INTERNATIONAL HUMAN RIGHTS ARTS FESTIVAL

The International Human Rights Arts Festival took place on the weekend of March 3-5, 2017 at Dixon Place in New York City. The festival featured more than 70 artists producing more than 40 events, all oriented in the theme of advocacy. Artistic media ranged from theater, dance, music, photography, film, spoken word, and much more. This festival is under the curation of Tom Block, Jessica Chen, Karla Puno Garcia, Julia Levine, Heather Robles, and Thomas Tsai.

Joffrey Ballet Presents Four World Premieres In WINNING WORKS, 3/11-12

The Joffrey Academy of Dance, Official School of The Joffrey Ballet in collaboration with Chicago Public Library present four world premieres in the seventh annual Winning Works program, the culmination of Joffrey's national call for ALAANA (African, Latino(a), Asian, Arab and Native American) artists to submit applications for the Joffrey Academy's Seventh Annual Winning Works Choreographic Competition.

Due to unforeseen circumstances the performance of Houston Ballet II's Sleeping Beauty Act III, scheduled for March 18, 2017, has been cancelled. Ticket buyers may request refunds at point of purchase.

Boston Ballet Announces 2017-2018 Season

Boston Ballet Artistic Director Mikko Nissinen announces the programming for the 2017-2018 season at the Boston Opera House, to begin in November. The 54th season will open with the North American premiere of Wayne McGregor's "forcefully resonant" Obsidian Tear (Roslyn Sulcas, The New York Times), a co-production with The Royal Ballet.

Bergen Performing Arts Center Presents HOUSTON BALLET II'S SLEEPING BEAUTY ACT III

Sleeping Beauty is recognized as one of the supreme achievements of classical ballet. The ballet is based on the classic French fairy tale by Charles Perrault: a beautiful princess is cursed by an evil fairy and doomed to sleep for 100 years - only to be awakened by the kiss of the handsome prince who loves her. Act III includes many classic fairytale scenes including the famous Aurora's Wedding pas de deux, Blue Bird, Puss-n-Boots and a pas de quatre.
