Six plays have been chosen as the winning scripts from the 35th Annual Samuel French, Inc. Off-Off Broadway Short Play Festival, which concluded Sunday, July 18th in The Lion Theatre at Theatre Row.

At the half-way mark of their 35th annual Off Off Broadway Short Play Festival, Samuel French, Inc. announces the first six plays that have moved on to the Finals to be held on Sunday, July 18th in four sessions beginning at 1:00 pm in the Lion Theatre at Theatre Row:

East River Commedia (Paul Bargetto, Artistic Director) presents playgroundzero, curated by Saviana Stanescu, as part of the 4th Annual undergroundzero festival at Performance Space 122.

Weekly special events provide opportunities to mix and mingle with the artists. All events are open to the public with a suggested $5 donation and refreshments are provided.

Chosen from hundreds of submissions by playwriting workshops, university theatre programs, and professional companies both in the U.S. and abroad, these 40 plays will be presented July 13th - 18th at the Lion Theatre in Theatre Row (410 W. 42nd Street). Out of these plays, six finalists will be chosen by the Samuel French, Inc. editorial staff to receive publication and licensing contracts.
