Ghostlight Records announces that the Original Broadway Cast Recording of RODGERS + HAMMERSTEIN'S Cinderella CD hits stores today, June 4.

The Tony-nominated stars of the Broadway musical Rodgers + Hammerstein's CINDERELLA -- Laura Osnes (Cinderella) and Santino Fontana (the Prince) --will host the 5th Annual National High School Musical Theater Awards (NHSMTA) on Monday, July 1 at the Minskoff Theater on Broadway. Student winners from 31 regional awards will compete in the national event for the Jimmy Awards, named after Broadway theater owner and producer James M. ("Jimmy") Nederlander.

The Tony Awards are now less than a month away, and I've really been enjoying revisiting memories, cast albums, and even shows themselves since the nominations were announced! A few days ago I posted my thoughts on the Best Score, Book, Musicals and Plays. Today, here are my feelings in the acting categories.

CINDERELLA -- the Rodgers + Hammerstein musical now at the Broadway Theatre (1681 Broadway) -- played its 100th performance on Wednesday evening, May 29. The cast celebrated with a cake from Carlo's Bakery, home of TV's 'Cake Boss.' The musical began previews on January 25 and had its official opening night on March 3. Written for CBS-TV in 1957, this production of Rodgers + Hammerstein's CINDERELLA marks the musical's first-eve Broadway production, now in its 5th month of performances. The Friday, May 31st broadcast of WNBC-TV/Channel 4's program 'New York Live' seen weekdays at 12:30 p.m. will feature a backstage interview with CINDERELLA stars Laura Osnes and Santino Fontana.

On Saturday, June 22 at 8:30pm and Sunday, June 23 at 4pm, Caramoor kicks off the 68th Summer Festival with its first ever Broadway production, She Loves Me. Joining the cast will be John Cullum, Ryan Silverman, Brad Oscar, Etai BenShlomo and Jonathan Freeman. Michele Lynch will choreograph.

On Friday and Saturday, May 24th-25th, Schmackary's will celebrate its first birthday with several special offerings.

Manhattan Theatre Club presented their annual Spring Gala last night, May 20 at Cipriani 42nd Street (110 East 42nd Street). This year's gala featured special appearances by MTC stars Judith Light (The Assembled Parties), S. Epatha Merkerson (Come Back, Little Sheba), Bebe Neuwirth (Golden Age), and Jennifer Westfeldt (The Explorers Club).

Coming up at 54 BELOW, the performance venue located just below the legendary Studio 54 at 254 West 54th Street, presents some of the brightest stars from Broadway, cabaret, jazz and beyond. 54 Below also launched its series of late night events. Joining Tuesday nights' popular "Backstage" with Susie Mosher is the "54 Piano Bar," a new vocal competition - 'The Callback," and more, including: stage and television star Laura Benanti, High Fidelity in Concert, WGBO Jazz Series: Karrin Allyson Quartet, Tony winner Frances Ruffelle, Charlie Rosen's Broadway Big Band, Sondheim Unplugged and Simply Streisand.

Following the overwhelming demand of their sold-out March debut, Charlie Rosen's Broadway Big Band will return to Broadway's Nightclub, 54 Below, on Friday, May 24th.

Five months…  FIVE MONTHS after their previous musical comedy, Jumbo, opened at the Hippodrome, the trio of Richard Rodgers, Lorenz Hart and George Abbott had a brand new one at the Imperial.  But far from seeming a rush job, their 1936 On Your Toes can easily be argued to be a huge step forward in refining musical comedy into a sophisticated art form.

A new web series, Dates, Mates & Clean Slates, features Julie Kotarides (A Chorus Line, Surf!) and Stephanie Gibson (Spamalot, The Addams Family, and the upcoming R+H's Cinderella).. Rodgers and Hammerstein's Cinderella, which recently nabbed nine Tony nominations, has released its original Broadway cast recording. The musical follows the classic story of Cinderella, a maid to her stepfamily who spends a romantic night out with the Prince that is cut short when the clock strikes midnight. Cinderella leaves the Prince with nothing but a glass slipper, leading him to conduct an extensive search for his mystery lady.

Nominations in 26 competitive categories for the American Theatre Wing's 67th Annual Antoinette Perry 'Tony' Awards were announced on Tuesday at the Tony Award Nominations Announcement sponsored by IBM. Check out the full list here, and meet the nominees below!
