Fringe Arts Festival Debuts in Manila, Featuring THE BOY IN THE BATHROOM, 2/12-3/1

The Fringe Arts Festival, the world's largest multi-arts festival, which took root in Edinburgh, Scotland seven decades ago and remains robust till this day--hosting 49,497 performances, 3,193 shows in 299 venues in its latest annual edition in Edinburgh--is finally setting foot in Manila, Philippines from today, February 12 through Sunday, March 1.

The Pacific Symphony Presents FRESH SQUEEZED MUSIC

Pacific Symphony Music Director Carl St.Clair has spent 25 years championing music in the community, and it shows in Pacific Symphony's commitment to access, willingness to experiment and openness to sharing the stage. The Symphony celebrates Maestro St.Clair's 25th anniversary at the helm by sending its musicians out into the community to perform chamber and full-orchestra concerts throughout Orange County, with the majority of events taking place between February and June. These free or low-cost concerts are collectively called, “Freshly Squeezed Music: Pacific Symphony in Your Orange County Neighborhood.” Concerts highlight Pacific Symphony's extensive and varied reach into the community, and include new partnerships with local community-based arts organizations, as well as highlight artists and students currently involved in Pacific Symphony's education and community engagement programs.

MONICA BENGOA: EXERCISES DE STYLE / EXERCISES IN STYLE Opens 2/14 at Patricia and Phillip Frost Art Museum FIU

The Patricia and Phillip Frost Art Museum FIU presents the first-ever showing of a new series by Chilean artist Mónica Bengoa, Exercises de Style / Exercises in Style opening Saturday, February 14 through April 26. The exhibition is organized by guest curator Julia Herzberg and includes 19 artworks based on French writer Raymond Queneau's book Exercises de Style, interpreted by the artist in three mediums - paper, felt and embroidery.

MoMA and MoMA PS1 Announce Young Architects Program 2015

The Museum of Modern Art and MoMA PS1 announce Andres Jaque/Office for Political Innovation as the winner of the annual Young Architects Program (YAP) in New York. Now in its 16th edition, the Young Architects Program at MoMA and MoMA PS1 has been committed to offering emerging architectural talent the opportunity to design and present innovative projects, challenging each year's winners to develop creative designs for a temporary, outdoor installation at MoMA PS1 that provides shade, seating, and water. The architects must also work within guidelines that address environmental issues, including sustainability and recycling. Andres Jaque, drawn from among five finalists, will design a temporary urban landscape for the 2015 Warm Up summer music series in MoMA PS1's outdoor courtyard.

A Class Act NY, Manhattan's award-winning acting studio for kids and teens, put on four main-stage productions of Disney's smash hit stage play, HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL JR, over the holidays at the York Theatre in Manhattan. HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL JR was produced by Artistic Director, Jessica Rofe, and directed by Broadway's Sarah Amengual (Maria in WEST SIDE STORY), with music direction by Philip de la Cal. Two River Theater to Open Spring Season with GUADALUPE IN THE GUEST ROOM, 2/14-3/15

Two River Theater, under the leadership of Artistic Director John Dias and Managing Director Michael Hurst, continues its 2014/15 Season with Guadalupe in the Guest Room, a new play by Tony Meneses, directed by Daniella Topol. The production will run February 14-March 15, 2015, with the opening night on Friday, February 27 at 8pm. Tickets starting at $20 and ticket packages for Two River's spring season of three world premieres are available from 732.345.1400 or tworivertheater.org. Guadalupe in the Guest Room is supported by lead production sponsor U.S. Trust.

Garret Dillahunt Heading to BROOKLYN NINE-NINE

According to The Hollywood Reporter, former RAISING HOPE star Garret Dillahunt is set to guest star on Fox's BROOKLYN NINE-NINE. It marks the first time he's returned to the network.

Oomph Theatre to Launch in March with I CATCH YOU DREAMING

"I Catch You Dreaming," Rafael Albarran's romantic fantasia about artists of different ethnicities coming of age in New York, receives its world premiere at the Flamboyan Theater, 107 Suffolk Street, beginning Thursday March 5. Directed by Gama Valle, the world premiere of "I Catch You Dreaming" is produced by Mariana Ortiz and Albarran's Oomph Theater Productions, a pan-ethnic company devoted to challenging artists and audiences to celebrate our differences, not hide behind them.

SALSA, MAMBO, CHA CHA CHA Musical Heading to the U.S.?

According to Billboard, Cuban musical Salsa, Mambo, Cha Cha Cha, which just opened in Havana this week, might be heading to the U.S. Directed by Fela!'s Maija Garcia, the revue-style show focuses on Cuban music, dance, and culture. The sold out show, which plays at the Mella Theater, is currently seeking backers to export the show.

BWW Reviews: The Engeman's VANYA & SONIA & MASHA & SPIKE

Christopher Durang's Tony winning play Vanya & Sonia & Masha & Spike is certainly one for the books for Northports's John W. Engeman Theatre. The gorgeous Long Island venue has mounted a wonderful incarnation running through March 8th and boasts an extraordinary cast.
