'JUNIOR CLAUS', the family holiday musical, is being brought to the Twin Cities South Metro for the 2009 holiday season by two local theater producers.

KPFK Radio's Arts in Review, Los Angeles's longest-running radio showcase on live theater and cabaret, presents its annual Christmas Day Special, highlighted by a concert presentation of Dylan Thomas' A Child's Christmas in Wales, featuring actor Al Alu; and the premiere of the radio dramatization, All is Calm, All is Bright, performed by the Arts in Review Repertory Company.

Grammy nominated song writer Barbara Hart and Cheryl Gimbel have joined forces to create a world premiere musical debuting in Los Angeles, with the incomparable Kay Cole at the helm. In the musical, a low-life building inspector tries to bring down the decades old Rose Bowl bowling alley. As justice is being sought, Cupid's arrow is launched...but the Rose Bowl Queens may not survive. Ain't likely ta git much funner en this.

The stage version of the classic Christmas comedy that made 'You'll shoot your eye out' one of the most famous phrases in holiday history is coming to the Alabama Shakespeare Festival, Nov. 27-Dec. 24. The 2009-2010 season of Reprise Theatre Company continues with Rodgers and Hammerstein's 'Carousel,' January 26 to February 7 at UCLA's Freud Playhouse. Alexandra Silber stars as Julie Jordan, direct from her critically acclaimed portrayal of Julie Jordan in 'Carousel' at the Savoy Theatre in London's West End (TMA Award - Best Actress). Silber is joined by Robert Patteri as Billy Bigelow ('Scarlet Pimpernel,' 'Beauty and the Beast'.) Veteran character actor M. Emmet Walsh appears as the Starkeeper. City Lights Theater Company of San Jose proudly presents the West Coast Premiere of ANOTHER NIGHT BEFORE CHRISTMAS - book and lyrics by Sean Grennan, music by Leah Okimoto . The production previews on Thursday, November 19th and Friday, November 20th, 2009, with the Gala Opening Performance on Saturday, November 21st, 2009. A post-show discussion will be held on November 29th. The production is scheduled to run through December 20th, 2009.
