With her typically self-deprecating humor, Ms. Ballard proclaims herself 'The Greatest Star You Hardly Knew', and the beautifully constructed 90 minute film details her extraordinary accomplishments from Broadway's 'Carnival', 'The Golden Apple', 'Molly' and 'Pirates Of Penzance' to her stellar nightclub, film and television career including 'The Doris Day Show' and the beloved and iconic 'Mother's In Law' with Eve Arden. It highlights the extraordinary talents of Ms. Ballard and doesn't shy away from the disappointments and challenges along the way, featuring interviews with Woody Allen, Carol Channing, Hal Prince, Carol Burnett, Michael Feinstein, Joy Behar and more. Hal Prince boldly states 'if Kaye Ballard had been cast as the mother in 'Gypsy,' 'she would have made history.' I had the chance to visit with Ms. Ballard at her home on 'Kaye Ballard Lane' in Rancho Mirage (the home formerly owned by her friend and TV director, Desi Arnaz) to talk about the film and more. Based on a story and characters created by Tim Burton, 1993's animated The Nightmare Before Christmas (rated PG) was directed by Henry Selick (James and the Giant Peach). This magical film follows the earnest but misguided adventures of Jack Skellington, Halloween Town's beloved Pumpkin King, as he attempts to take control of the Christmas holiday. Against the advice of Sally, a lonely rag doll who has feelings for him, Jack enlists three mischievous trick-or-treaters - Lock, Shock and Barrel - to help in his plot to kidnap Santa Claus.

Their names will be embedded in a bronze medallion on the sidewalk near the Jazz Museum.

The company, which recently celebrated its 10-year anniversary, will present the world premiere of Met Again, the comedic and cathartic love story by playwright and Co-Artistic Director Jacob Smith, as well as the wildly popular spoof A Very DIE HARD Christmas, bringing some holiday madness to the summer heat. Both shows open this June at studio/stage in Hollywood.
Songwriters Jerry Leiber and Mike Stoller, whose classic song 'Stand By Me' just received worldwide acclaim for its climactic performance at the Royal Wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, will be inducted into the American Jazz Walk of Fame in Kansas City, MO on Saturday, June 2. Their names will be embedded in a bronze medallion on the sidewalk near the Jazz Museum. Their 1952 song classic '(Going to) Kansas City' is now considered to be the city's anthem.
