It's an odd thing to say that one of my favourite musical songs is one which makes me cry. Even odder, in fact, that it's one which I couldn't bear to listen to for almost a year...

Nominations for the 2016 Fred and Adele Astaire Awards, which honor outstanding dance and choreography on stage and screen, were announced today at the Friar's Club by New York Post columnist Michael Riedel. For the first time, the Fred and Adele Astaire Awards have explored recognizing excellence in dance, movement, and choreography off-Broadway. Twenty eligible shows in the non-profit and commercial off-Broadway arenas met the eligibility requirements and were considered.

The 2016 Tony Award Nominations were announced earlier today, and while a select, talented few will spend the day celebrating their achievements, there are many who fell just short of a nod.

Lyric Theatre of Oklahoma announces casting and production teams for its annual summer shows, featuring new and returning national talent, including Emily Skinner, Adam Heller, Sandra Mae Frank, Trista Dollison, Kyle Taylor Parker, Jerry Jay Cranford, Martin Burke, David Coffee, Kristina Love, Monte Riegel Wheeler, Casey Elizabeth Gill, and more. All four productions- DREAMGIRLS, THE WIZARD OF OZ, FIDDLER ON THE ROOF, and THE DROWSY CHAPERONE - will perform at the Civic Center Music Hall in Oklahoma City.

Deaf West Theatre's acclaimed Broadway production of SPRING AWAKENING closes today, Sunday, January 24 after 129 performances. The production will have life after Broadway, however, with a national tour scheduled to launch in 2017.

The Sixth Annual Clive Barnes Awards was a held on a chilly afternoon, at the Walter Reade Theater, Lincoln Center. Winning in the Dance Award--Gabe Stone Shayer, and the Theatre Award went to Dave Thomas Brown. A lovely afternoon to celebrate the late Clive Barnes, The Clive Barnes Foundation, and recognizing talented the finalists and both winners of this humble award.

Votes are cast; polls are closed; and results have been tabulated! This was our biggest year yet! After a record number of voters in more than 70 regions worldwide, BroadwayWorld is very excited to announce the 2015 Los Angeles Awards winners. Highlights include Audra McDonald as 'Best Cabaret Artist', Jerry Mitchell for KINKY BOOTS, Andrea Martin in PIPPIN, and more!  Thanks to all who voted, and huge congratulations to all the winners!

Brown played an awkward dive bar Elvis impersonator who finds his true calling as a drag artist in MCC's production of Matthew Lopez's comedy.

The Sixth Annual Clive Barnes Awards for Theatre and Dance will be held this afternoon, January 11, at 3 p.m. at The Walter Reade Theatre, Lincoln Center. One recipient from each category will be chosen and the winners announced today. All finalists will receive a cash prize, with the winners in each category receiving an award of $5,000.

Happy Holidays! It's the last week to vote for the 2015 BroadwayWorld Los Angeles Regional Awards! Check out the latest live stats as of December 18. Nominations were reader-submitted and after the nomination period ended, BroadwayWorld's local editors proofed the list for eligibility and errors. Voting runs through December 31!
