The Literature to Life® program of The American Place Theatre (APT) will kick off its newest campaign, Project 451, with a celebrity gala May 17 and 18 in Theater at St. Clement's, 423 West 46th Street, Manhattan.

The Drama League (Jano Herbosch, President; Gabriel Shanks, Executive Director) proudly announces nominations for the 2008-09 Drama League Awards, to be awarded at The 75th Annual Drama League Awards Ceremony and Luncheon on Friday, May 15, 2009 (noon) in the Grand Ballroom of the Marriott Marquis Hotel in Times Square (1535 Broadway at 46th Street). The event will be co-hosted by Jeremy Irons (Impressionism) and Cynthia Nixon (Distracted).

The world-renowned Imagination Workshop was founded 40 years ago by Margaret Ladd, the award-winning actress and Founding Artistic Director, and her husband Lyle Kessler, the critically-acclaimed playwright, and Co-Founder of the organization. Today, the Imagination Workshop, a unique theatre company comprised of professional theatre artists collaborating with patients recovering from mood disorders and other mental illnesses, is one of the longest running Arts and Social Institutions in the country.

The Fire Dept Artistic Directors Erica Gould and Audrey Rosenberg presented The Minotaur, the first installment of the company's 2009 Salon Series, the cast for the performance included Mario Cantone, Jill Clayburgh, Phoebe Neidhardt, Ethan Peck, Campbell Scott, and Jeremy Webb. The Minotaur, written by Anna Ziegler; directed by Erica Gould; and produced by Audrey Rosenberg, took place Friday, March 27 at 7:30pm at the historic Players Club, 16 Gramercy Park South at 20th Street.

She wanted to explore a 'woman who is left at the very point in her life when she ought to be reaping the benefits of her sacrifice', and recognised that 'a story as familiar as this was only going to work if it dug more complexly beyond the stereotypical version'.

This Monday-night series will explore the many aspects of President Lincoln's personality and life through lectures, panels, play readings and performances. The series is part of the grand reopening for Ford's Theatre, which reopens in February after an 18-month renovation.

Daily Variety reported yesterday that the Intl. Academy of Television Arts & Sciences has tapped Roger Bart, currently starring in Broadway's 'Young Frankenstein,' to host the 36th annual Intl. Emmy Awards on Nov. 24 in New York City.
