Last night, June 21, The Public Theater hosted its annual gala, this year honoring sponsors Bank of America and Bernard Gersten. THE MERCHANT OF VENICE, running in repertory with THE WINTER'S TALE, gave a special performance as part of the gala event. SAN DIEGO REPERTORY THEATRE in partnership with THE SAN DIEGO SCHOOL OF CREATIVE AND PERFORMING ARTS (SCPA) is proud to present Southern California's first regional production of the hit musical comedy HAIRSPRAY.

Called the 'the greatest cabaret star of her generation' by the International Herald Tribune, star of screen, stage, concert and recording star Andrea Marcovicci will be making a special return at Chicago's premier venue for music, Davenport's, 1383 N. Milwaukee Avenue, Chicago.

The Faith & Politics Institute will present the Long Wharf Theatre production of HAVE YOU SEEN US?, written by master playwright Athol Fugard, in a one-night only staged reading Wednesday, June 9 at 6 p.m. at Folger Theatre, located at 201 East Capitol Street, Washington, D.C. The reading will be followed by a panel discussion with Mr. Fugard, director Gordon Edelstein, and the cast. The evening's Honorary Host is the Honorable Rep. Rosa DeLauro and NPR's legal affairs correspondent Nina Totenberg will moderate the panel discussion.

'Randi Driscoll and friends in concert' a special concert event will be performed June 24 to benefit the Matthew Shepard Foundation. The concert will be presented at the Laurie Beechman Theatre at 8pm.

On July 24, the Hudson Stage Company of Croton on Hudson, New York, will host its annual gala fundraiser, 'Divas on Hudson.' The event will be hosted on a Hudson River property in Montrose. It will be tented rain or shine and will have seating available, in addition to expansive grounds for picnicking. The evening will feature a sunset concert with Broadway singers, a silent auction, wine and cheese, dessert, coffee and the view. Performers at past events have included Audra McDonald, Ann Hampton Callaway, Lauren Kennedy, Liz Callaway, Barbara Walsh, and Shoshana Bean.

The Tony Award-winning actor Billy Crudup opened the world-premiere of Adam Rapp's play THE METAL CHILDREN, last night, May 19 at the Vineyard Theatre. The show, also directed by Rapp, began previews May 4. BroadwayWorld was on hand to capture the opening night arrivals.

Roundabout Theatre Company in association with Long Wharf Theatre opened Tennessee Williams' The Glass Menagerie, last night, March 24. Directed by Gordon Edelstein, the production stars Patch Darragh (Tom Wingfield), two-time Tony® Award winner Judith Ivey (Amanda Wingfield), Keira Keeley (Laura Wingfield), and Michael Mosley (Jim O'Connor). Performances began on Friday, March 5th, 2010 at the Laura Pels Theatre at the Harold and Miriam Steinberg Center for Theatre This will be a limited engagement through May 30th, 2010.

Nicolas Kent, the award-winning artistic director of London's acclaimed Tricycle Theatre, directs a new version of A Walk in the Woods, Lee Blessing's Pulitzer-nominated play about nuclear negotiations, at Northern Stage in White River Junction, VT. For the first time, with the playwright's input, the play will feature a woman portraying the American negotiator.

SIN, a mystical comedy, based on Isaac Bashevis Singer's short story 'The Unseen,' adapted by Mark Altman, will have it's world premiere at the Baruch Performing Arts Center's Rose Nagelberg Theatre (55 Lexington Avenue at 25th Street).
