The Off-Broadway League today announced nominations in 18 categories and one special award for the 2014 Lucille Lortel Awards for Outstanding Achievement Off-Broadway. The Lortel Awards will be handed out on Sunday, May 4, 2014 at NYU Skirball Center beginning at 7:00pm EST, and hosted by acclaimed husband and wife actors and comedians, Megan Mullally and Nick Offerman. This year's event will once again benefit The Actors Fund.
The Realistic Joneses is currently in previews, with an official opening night on Sunday, April 6, 2014, at the Lyceum Theatre (149 W 45th Street). The new play stars Golden Globe and Emmy Award-winner; Academy Award and Tony Award-nominee Toni Collette ('Hostages,' 'United States of Tara,' The Sixth Sense, The Wild Party), Golden Globe and Screen Actors Guild Award-winner Michael C. Roundabout Theatre Company has announced that PS Classics will record the cast album of VIOLET on April 7, 2014. This Original Broadway Cast Recording, a two-disc set, will be released on June 3. The production is currently playing at the American Airlines Theatre through August 10, 2014.

Actor Bruce Davison certainly needs no introduction. He has starred on stage, screen and television in a multitude of complex roles over the last almost 50 years. He is most remembered for his early film Willard in the 60s and his stunning Oscar-nominated role in Longtime Companion from the early 90s. Davison is currently onstage in Noel Coward's A Song at Twilight at the Pasadena Playhouse, co-starring Sharon Lawrence and Roxanne Hart. In our chat, he talks about his wonderful role in the Coward play and other fascinating career tidbits.
Michael C. Hall stopped by this morning's TODAY and shared that he is happy to leave the death-centered plots of his TV drama 'Dexter' behind him and focus on his new role in the Broadway production of 'The Realistic Joneses.'

Tony Award winner Cynthia Nixon joins the Broadway cast of Tom Stoppard's The Real Thing opposite Ewan McGregor and Maggie Gyllenhaal. She'll play the role of Charlotte. The show will begin performances at Roundabout Theater Company's American Airlines Theatre on October 2, 2014, directed by Sam Gold. Gyllenhaal will make her Broadway debut starring as 'Annie' opposite McGregor as 'Henry'.
The producers of Will Eno's new play The Realistic Joneses have announced a general rush policy. A limited number of rush tickets, which are subject to availability, can be purchased at the box office of the Lyceum Theatre when the box office opens for the day of the performance on a first-come-first-served basis. The box office of the Lyceum Theatre opens at 10am Monday through Saturday, and at noon on Sunday. Rush tickets are $35 each and limited to two (2) tickets per customer.

Classic Stage Company, under the leadership of Artistic Director Brian Kulick and Executive Director Greg Reiner, will present David Ives' THE HEIR APPARENT, adapted from the play by Jean-Francois Regnard, beginning performances Friday, March 28 at CSC (136 East 13th Street). Directed by John Rando, THE HEIR APPARENT will feature Suzanne Bertish (Madame Argante), Carson Elrod (Crispin), Claire Karpen (Lisette), Amelia Pedlow (Isabelle), David Pittu (Scruple), Dave Quay (Eraste) and Paxton Whitehead (Geronte). The official press opening for THE HEIR APPARENT is Wednesday, April 9. The production will play at limited engagement through Sunday, May 4.
