Greater Austin High School Musical Theater Awards Set for the Long Center Tonight

It will be a night of firsts for performing arts in Austin, Texas! The First Annual Greater Austin High School Musical Theatre Awards (GAHSMTA) will be held at the Long Center, tonight, April 17 at 7:30pm. Not only will it be the first large scale project fully produced in-house by Austin's iconic performing arts venue on Lady Bird Lake, but also it will be the first time the Long Center has partnered with ZACH Theatre and The University of Texas at Austin College of Fine Arts.

Espo Productions Presents World Premiere of JACKIE AND MARILYN at Theatre Row, Now thru 5/3

Espo Productions, in association with MC of NY and World Tree Productions, are pleased to announce the Off-Broadway world premiere of JACKIE AND MARILYN, written by Sheri Graubert and directed by Sanja Bestic. JACKIE AND MARILYN, a play with music about one of the most talked about possible love triangles in American history, will play a four week limited engagement at The Lion Theatre at Theatre Row (410 West 42nd Street, Manhattan). Performances begin tonight, April 17 and continue through Saturday, May 3. Opening Night is Friday, April 18 at 8 p.m.

FST Announces 2014 Young Playwrights Festival Winners; Ceremony Set for 5/10

The plays are here! Florida Studio Theatre's 2014 Young Playwrights Festival has begun. Plays from over 3,000 playwrights were received from all over Florida and across the globe. FST is proud to announce that the winning plays of the Under Six and Seven Up programs have been selected. The winning playwrights will be honored on Saturday, May 10th at the Young Playwrights Festival awards ceremony.

General Mischief Dance Theatre to Present RASCALS WITH ALTITUDE, 4/25-54

General Mischief Dance Theatre presents its spring performance, Rascals with Altitude. Performances will take place from April 25 - May 4 at The Connelly Theatre, 220 East 4th Street, NYC. Tickets are $20 in advance for general admission ($25 at the door, $15 for students and seniors, $10 for children ten and under) and are available at https://www.artful.ly/store/events/2754 or by calling (212) 714-4694. Performances are Friday, April 25 at 8pm; Saturday, April 26 at 8pm; Sunday, April 27 at 5pm; Friday, May 2 at 8pm; Saturday, May 3 at 3pm and 8pm; and Sunday, May 4 at 3pm. The performance is appropriate for ages 4 and up.

Joe Iconis Set for MURDER FOR TWO's Murderous Musical Mondays Concert Series, 5/5

Award-winning composer and lyricist Joe Iconis will take the stage on Monday, May 5, 2014 at New World Stages as part of MURDER FOR TWO's newly launched concert series Murderous Musical Mondays. The unplugged concert, which will feature both new songs and fan favorites, will take place immediately following the 7pm performance of MURDER FOR TWO at New World Stages (Stage 5 - 340 West 50th Street) on Monday, May 5th, 2014.
