Rivendell Theatre Ensemble proudly announces its 2016 Season, 'The Body Politic.' As the election circus swirls around us, Rivendell Theatre Ensemble (RTE) presents a season in which the political is deeply personal. In the widening chasm between our diverse American dreams and the ways elected officials actually conduct our nation's affairs, we offer three bold productions, all directed by women RTE ensemble members, about women choosing to take matters into their own hands. The season will be performed at Rivendell Theatre Ensemble, 5779 N. Ridge Avenue in Chicago.

Dry Land was greeted with ecstatic reviews and queues around the block when it premiered at the Here Arts Center in New York a year ago. The production prompted revered New York Times critic Ben Bradley to award it a glowing five star review in which he described the work as 'tender, caustic, funny and harrowing, often all at the same time'. Nominated for the prestigious Susan Blackburn award and heaped with praise, the 21 year old Ruby Rae Spiegel was named a 'fearless' writer who could expect a glittering career ahead.

The Wilbury Theatre Group proudly opens it's 2015/16 season with the New England premiere of Ruby Rae Speigel's Dry Land, September 17-October 3, 2015. A finalist for the 2015 Susan Smith Blackburn Award, Dry Land . Centered on young girls' experiences in the scary throes of adulthood, Spiegel's critically acclaimed play is about abortion, love, friendship, and the life of the modern American teenager. This New England premiere production is directed by Wilbury Artistic Director Josh Short and features original music by local singer-songwriter Emeline Easton.
