Governor Jack Markell & Wife Set for DTC's LOVE LETTERS Benefit, 11/16

The Delaware Theatre has announced the inaugural performance of the Play A Part series of fundraisers: A.R. Gurney's LOVE LETTERS, starring Governor and Mrs. Jack Markell. This event, co-chaired by Tatiana and Gerret Copeland and Ellen and Michael Kullman, will raise funds to support the theatre's artistic, education and community outreach programming. PLAY A PART: LOVE LETTERS will be performed on November 16, 2013.

Celebrity Series of Boston Presents Cellist David Finckel and Pianist Wu Han Tonight

Celebrity Series of Boston will present cellist David Finckel and pianist Wu Han tonight, October 27, 2013, at 3pm at NEC's Jordan Hall, 30 Gainsborough Street, Boston. This performance is an AaRon Richmond Recital, endowed by Nancy Richmond Winsten and the late Dr. Joseph Winsten in memory of AaRon Richmond, who founded Celebrity Series in 1938. NY Philharmonic's 'Insights Series' Now Free; 2013-14 Lineup Kicks Off Today

Beginning with the 2013-14 season, the New York Philharmonic's Insights Series - in which artists and experts will explore some of the season's themes and concerts - will now be free, and take place at the David Rubenstein Atrium at Lincoln Center. This season's events will include discussions with Concertmaster Glenn Dicterow during his farewell season (TODAY, October 23); composer-conductor Esa-Pekka Salonen and violinist Leila Josefowicz (October 28), who will discuss Mr. Salonen's Violin Concerto, written for Ms. Josefowicz (which they will perform with the Philharmonic in its New York Concert Premiere, October 30-November 5); Music Director Alan Gilbert and Executive Director Matthew VanBesien on the state of the Philharmonic (March 3, 2014); The Mary and James G. Wallach Artist-in-Residence Yefim Bronfman (May 20, 2014), who will talk about Beethoven's piano concertos (which he will perform during The Beethoven Piano Concertos: A Philharmonic Festival, June 11-28, 2014); and discussions relating to the NY PHIL BIENNIAL, the details of which will be announced at a later date. All Insights Series events begin at 7:30 p.m.

Carol Burnett Awarded Kennedy Center Mark Twain Prize for American Humor Tonight

A star-studded lineup of the nation's top comedic entertainers will salute Carol Burnett at the 16th Annual Kennedy Center Mark Twain Prize for American Humor tonight, October 20, 2013. The Prize, which is named in honor of one of the world's greatest humorists, will air on PBS stations nationwide October 30, 2013 (check local listings).

New York Philharmonic Kicks Off Free Insights Series October 23

The 2013-14 season of the New York Philharmonic's Insights Series - in which artists and experts explore some of the season's themes and concerts - will begin this month with two events. The series is free to the public throughout the season, and all events take place at the David Rubenstein Atrium at Lincoln Center (Columbus Avenue at 62nd Street) at 7:30 p.m.

Reflecting the evolving landscape for arts education in today's society, Lincoln Center Institute-the educational cornerstone of Lincoln Center since 1975 and a global leader in arts education and advocacy-is changing its name to Lincoln Center Education. This name change, announced today by Russell Granet, Executive Director of Lincoln Center Education, is part of a dynamic and multi-faceted refocusing and rebranding of Lincoln Center's education initiative, and is supported by significant funding and innovative new programs.

Sobini Films Developing Feature Following Roger Ebert & Russ Meyer's Working Relationship

Mark Amin's Sobini Films is partnering with David Permut's Permut Presentations and Richard Waltzer's Chautauqua Entertainment to acquire RUSS & ROGER GO BEYOND, a screenplay written by Emmy winner Christopher Cluess (SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE, THE SIMPSONS) based on the true story of the unique relationship between provocative filmmaker Russ Meyer and legendary critic Roger Ebert while they made BEYOND THE VALLEY OF THE DOLLS at 20th Century Fox.

American Friends of the Tel Aviv Museum of Art to Host Fall Gala, 11/21

The American Friends of the Tel Aviv Museum of Art (AFTAM) Chicago Chapter will host its 2nd Annual Fall Gala, honoring Scott Hodes as the 2013 “Patron of the Arts,” on Thursday, November 21 at the Trump International Hotel & Tower, 401 N. Wabash Avenue. Proceeds will benefit the Tel Aviv Museum of Art (TAMA), Israel's leading museum of modern art, and home to the largest collection of Israeli art in the world.

Renowned Artist, Suzanne Lacy Presents BETWEEN THE DOOR AND THE STREET NY Art Project, 10/19

On October 19, 2013 at 4:30 p.m. hundreds of women will gather on the stoops and entry courtyards of Park Place between Vanderbilt and Underhill Avenues, in Prospect Heights,Brooklyn. There, they will explore some of the most compelling and provocative issues facing women today. The performance--unscripted yet meticulously composed--is the central component of Between the Door and the Street, a major work, and the first in New York City, by internationally celebrated artist Suzanne Lacy, presented by Creative Time and the Elizabeth A. Sackler Center for Feminist Art at the Brooklyn Museum. The public is encouraged to come to this tree-lined street and wander freely among the different groups to listen, observe, and form their own opinions, perhaps shaping a new understanding of what feminism means to different individuals in today's world.
