PICT Presents Othello May 19-June 12

The Pittsburg Irish and Catholic Theatre presents Shakepeare's tragedy Othello at The Henry Heymann Theatre in the Stephen Foster Memorial, 4301 Forbes Ave, May 19 - June 12. Performance time is 8pm with a 2pm matinee. Ticket prices are $46 on Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday matinees. Saturday night prices are $50. Celebrate CALIGULA MAXIMUS Final Performance With Penthouse Mag & More 4/17

CALIGULA MAXIMUS at La MaMa's Ellen Stewart Theatre completes its twice Extended Run on April 17th with a Closing Night Party sponsored by Penthouse Magazine. Special guests will include Victoria 'Dr. Z' Zdrok (Pet of The Year, 2004, clinical psychologist, PhD Drexel University), Penthouse Pet Ryan Keely (October 2009), Fetish model Darzenia and Guns N' Roses guitarist Bumblefoot. The party will take place on the set when the curtain comes down. Penthouse is donating complimentary issues of the magazines while supplies last.

Biryukov and Belen to Guest with Inland Valley Symphony, 4/11 & 4/15

The Inland Valley Symphony, Anthony Parnther, Music Director and Conductor, will present "ALL BRAHMS," a concert of the music of Romantic composer, Johannes Brahms featuring renowned Guest Artists, Russian cellist, Ruslan Biryukov, and award-winning violinist, Danielle Belen, performing the rarely heard "Double Concerto For Violin and Cello, Op. 102." Other works to be performed on the program include: "Tragic Overture, Op. 81" and "Symphony in F major, Op. 90." Two performances of the same concert will be given in various Southland locations.

New Edgecliff Premieres "Cyrano [rehearsed],' Opening 4/15

New Edgecliff Theatre closes its 2009-2010 season with Cyrano [rehearsed], a new adaptation of Edmond Rostand's Cyrano de Bergerac - a unique twist on the well-known tale by outgoing Artistic Director Greg Procaccino. The audience arrives to find the cast immersed in rehearsal for the musical version of Reservoir Dogs, only to see it transmogrify from gunplay to swordplay, and from contemporary songs of violence to classic words of romance.

Sting Heads to Metropolitan Opera, 7/13 & 7/14

According to the New York Times, Sting is set to perform at the Metropolitan Opera with the Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra of London on July 13th and 14th.

STAGE TUBE: Poetic License - Michael York

GPR Records' first release will be 'Poetic License' featuring 100 poems read by 100 performers of the stage and screen. The CD will be released on April 2nd in celebration of National Poetry Month and will be available on Amazon.com and on itunes. There has never been a spoken word recording that has included so many performers reading such a wide variety of poetry, each selection a personal choice of the performer. GPR Records is presenting this collection in hopes of inspiring audiences with a new appreciation of the spoken word.

American Stage Presents THE WAITRESS PLAY, 3/13 & 3/14

American Stage Theatre Company continues its "After Hours" series with Heather Jones' comedic drama, THE WAITRESS PLAY, Mar. 13 and 14. Ticket prices to all performances are "Pay-What-You-Can" at the door and $20 in advance.
