The Shakespeare Center of Los Angeles (SCLA) continues the celebration of its 25th anniversary by holding its 21st Simply Shakespeare reading of 'The Merry Wives of Windsor.' The participants for this rhinestone-studded cast in a down-home evenin' that will be more colorful than a clown at a rodeo include Christina Applegate, Kenneth Branagh, Faith Hill, Eric idle, Arte Johnson, Eugene Levy, Tim McGraw, William Shatner, Martin Short, Tracey Ullman and the co-chairs of the event Rita Wilson and Tom Hanks, all of whom will be reading one of Shakespeare's best known and beloved comedies.

Amas Musical Theatre's Rosetta LeNoire Musical Theatre Academy (Donna Trinkoff, Producing Artistic Director) will present the American musical comedy classic Damn Yankees, words and music by Richard Adler and Jerry Ross, book by George Abbott and Douglass Wallop, based on the novel by Douglass Wallop 'The Year the Yankees Lost the Pennant'.

The special musical guests are Reba McEntire, Sara Watkins, Sean Watkins, and Chris Wilson.

Rachel York Leads AMAS' ME AND MISS MONROE 4/21-23

Amas Musical Theatre (Donna Trinkoff/Producing Artistic Director), by special arrangement with Chase Mishkin, will present free performances of "Me and Miss Monroe", a new musical with book and lyrics by Charles Leipart, music by William Goldstein, directed by John Rando, starring Rachel York as Marilyn Monroe.

Shakespeare Center of LA Wins 2011 Rosetta Lenoire Award

The Shakespeare Center of Los Angeles (SCLA) has been named the recipient of Actors' Equity Association's (Equity) 2011 Rosetta LeNoire Award. The Award will be presented in a special ceremony to SCLA Founder and Artistic Director Ben Donenberg on Friday, April 8th in the Union's Western Regional office in Los Angeles. The ceremony will be held prior to the start of Equity's National Membership meeting.

Amas Benefit Event Honors Playwright George C. Wolfe with Rosie Award

Amas Musical Theatre (Donna Trinkoff, Producing Artistic Director), will celebrate the Centennial Year of its late founder Rosetta LeNoire at a Gala evening on Monday, April 4th, featuring a special 'Blast from the Past' concert of William Finn's songs from the celebrated Romance in Hard Times, starring Tony-Winner Lillias White and a veteran cast of Broadway professionals. The event takes place at the Baruch Performing Arts Center, East 25th Street between Lexington and 3rd Avenues, at 7pm.
