MAMMA MIA! Extends at Riverside Theatre

Riverside Theatre's production of Mamma Mia! adds two additional performances! Mamma Mia! runs April 10-29, 2018 on the Stark Stage and is sponsored by Dave Horner with additional support from Riverside Theatre's Patron Producers' Group. Mamma Mia! is a co-production with the Walnut Street Theatre in Philadelphia.

Soap Factory Welcomes New Director of Artistic Programming, Ellina Kevorkian

The Soap Factory is pleased to announce Ellina Kevorkian has been hired as the Director of Artistic Programs. Kevorkian brings an interdisciplinary interest in the scholarship and exhibition of both visual and performance arts; sincere advocacy for the artist process; and a commitment to the Soap Factory as a socially responsive hub for the Twin Cities and beyond.

Winners Of The Second Annual Tonic Awards Announced Recognising Women Across The Theatre Industry

Recipients of the second annual Tonic Awards were announced tonight at an awards ceremony held at the May Fair Theatre hosted by Dame Jenni Murray. The awards celebrate the achievements of game-changing women in theatre and the performing arts, and significant organisations, projects and productions that redefine the role of women in the performing arts, both on and off stage. The recipients honoured in this evenings event were: Emma de Souza, Clean Break theatre company, Walking the Feminists, The Royal Exchange Theatre Manchester, Steffi Holtz and Gina Abolins, Kully Thiarai, Lyn Gardner, Caryl Churchill and Katie Mitchell.

Jerry Vezza & Grover Kemble Present TUNES AND TALES At The Bickford

Pianist Jerry Vezza and singer/songwriter Grover Kemble celebrate their more than 25 years of musical partnership with a concert they are calling "Tales and Tunes Together." This engaging duo has shared many musical experiences which they will showcase, joined by bassist Rick Crane, drummer Tom Sayek, and saxophonist Anton Denner. The concert takes place at the Bickford Theatre on Thursday, April 5, at 7:30 p.m.

Operadagen Rotterdam 2018 Launches Programme And Ticket Sales

Operadagen Rotterdam, the festival for contemporary opera and music theatre, will be held from 18 through 27 May 2018. The programme was launched today as online ticket sales commence. 100+ performances can be enjoyed in Rotterdam's major theatres as well as at exciting inside and outside locations across the city. This year's festival theme is Heroism, with narratives revolving around the challenges and trials inherent to every hero's journey. Operadagen Rotterdam is an important meeting place for opera and music theatre professionals from around the world. This year the festival will host a programme developed by the international network organisation Opera Europa for the second time. Operadagen Rotterdam awards prizes to makers of innovative music theatre during the GALA!, now in its second edition.

The Barrow Group's A WALK IN THE WOODS Begins Saturday, March 17

The Barrow Group Theatre Company (Seth Barrish and Lee Brock, Co-Artistic Directors; Robert Serrell, Executive Director), recipient of aDrama Desk and Lucille Lortel Award, concludes their 2017-2018 season with the New York revival of A Walk in the Woods, a play by Lee Blessing. Directed by Donna Jean (DJ) Fogel, the two-member cast features K. Lorrel Manning as John Honeyman, an American negotiator and Martin Van Treuren as Andrey Botvinnik, a career Russian diplomat.

L.A. Opera And SongFest Launch Fellowship Program

LA Opera and SongFest have announced a new partnership to launch The Eva & Marc Stern SongFest-LA Opera Fellowship Program. Now in its 23rd season, SongFest is a training program and festival for singers and pianists that focuses on song and recital repertory, held at The Colburn School. SongFest and Colburn are thrilled to join forces with LA Opera and with Placido Domingo, the company's Eli and Edythe Broad General Director, in fostering community among young singers, established artists and audiences by sharing resources and collaborating on new creative projects while invigorating the increasingly vibrant arts scene in Los Angeles.

PDS Gypsy Awards to Honor George Chakiris and Barrie Chase, Choreography Award To Toni Basil

Academy Award and Golden Globe winning performer George Chakiris and acclaimed dancer, Barrie Chase have been named the honorees for the Professional Dancers Society's (PDS) annual Gypsy Awards Luncheon, it was announced by PDS President, Mitzi Gaynor and PDS Board Chairman, Joni Berry.  Emmy and Grammy nominated choreographer/director/singer Toni Basil will receive the organization's Choreographer's Award.  PDS' 31st Anniversary Luncheon will be held on Sunday, April 15, 2018 at the Beverly Hilton Hotel (9876 Wilshire Blvd.) in Beverly Hills, CA.

BWW Review: THE DAISY THEATRE at Centaur Theatre Company

The Quebec premiere of Ronnie Burkett's The Daisy Theatre has been gaining critical acclaim since its opening show on February 22nd at Montreal's Centaur Theatre Company. Burkett has been a legend in the marionette world and continues to push the envelope with his topical shows. He is a craftsman, writer, puppet master, performer, vocal artist and provocateur extraordinaire. He has been creating his own marionettes for decades and is the sole-performer, other than his cheeky and charming characters for which Burkett provides all voices, in all of his shows.

The Clayton-Hamilton Jazz Orchestra Comes to The Soraya, 4/5

The Grammy-nominated Clayton-Hamilton Jazz Orchestra, which captures the infectious fun of big band music, will perform at the Younes and Soraya Nazarian Center for the Performing Arts (The Soraya) on Thursday, April 5 at 8:00pm.  Jazz Times called the Los Angeles-based band, with a 32-year history, "one of current jazz's most vital large ensemble." Co-founder bassist John Clayton is a CSUN alumnus who has gone on to play with superstars such as Michael Jackson, Patti LaBelle and Madonna.

Goodman Theatre revives Having Our Say: The Delany Sisters' First 100 Years, Emily Mann's "warming theatrical event" (Variety)that celebrates the lives of "two strong, vibrant women dispensing joy and wisdom" (Chicago Tribune). Goodman Theatre Resident Director Chuck Smith's production features Ella Joyce and Marie Thomas as the Delany centenarians, Bessie (1891 - 1995) and Sadie (1889 -1999), respectively, as they trace their lives in a heartfelt reflection of their family history and triumphs over prejudices in times of social unrest.

The Top 24 Junior Home Cooks Revealed on MASTERCHEF JUNIOR
