Founded by Ronald K. Brown, Evidence, A Dance Company is rooted in African dance fusing Contemporary, Jazz and Ballet with the rhythms and sounds of the African Diaspora and Caribbean cultures.

The Perry-Mansfield New Works Festival (June Lindenmayer, Executive Director; Andrew Leynse, Artistic Director) has announced casting for the line-up of new works for the 2009 summer festival of theatre and dance at the venerable performing arts school in Steamboat Springs, CO. Dance of African Descent Downtown (DADD) Series which provided teaching, performance, and workshop opportunities in the Downtown dance scene for dancers/choreographers of African descent is reuniting to celebrate Aziza who started the DADD Series and her Def Dance Jam Workshop (DDJW), an inter-generational company of performing artists with (and without) disabilities.

The Joyce 2009 season kicks off on February 3 with Buglisi Dance Theatre presenting two different programs that will include three NYC premieres and one world premiere. Ronald K. Brown's Brooklyn-based Evidence, A Dance Company returns to The Joyce this year with an exciting NYC premiere, and Doug Varone and Dancers - back for its 10th Joyce season - also will feature a NYC premiere. Following them is the audience favorite Savion Glover, for a three-week season of electrifying tap set to Flamenco music. Then Ballet-Tech, under the Artistic Direction of Joyce founder Eliot Feld, will present two programs of post-classicism work with its 'Mandance Project.'

The Music Center of Los Angeles County announces the sixth season of the Dance at the Music Center series. The season opens with the return of Miami City Ballet led by Artistic Director Edward Villella, performing the much anticipated, West Coast premiere of NIGHTSPOT a Twyla Tharp and Elvis Costello collaboration, October 24-26. Known for her innovation and creativity, Twyla Tharp has created some of the most memorable dances in modern repertory.

Taking the chill out of the arctic blast was Evidence Dance Company's annual Grace in Winter Gala, chaired by art world legend Lowery Stokes Sims, former president of the internationally acclaimed Studio Museum in Harlem and longtime curator of Modern Art at the Metropolitan Museum.

Brown) will celebrate the start of its next 20 years in the international dance community with its 2007 Winter Gala 'Grace In Winter' on Monday, January 29th at New York's historic Hudson Theatre in the Millennium Broadway Hotel (145 West 44th Street).
