Ronald K. Brown's internationally acclaimed Evidence, A Dance Company returns once again to the East End for the company's 8th Annual On Our Toes in the Hamptons Summer Benefit, the premiere African-American cultural event of the Hamptons social season on August 20, 2011 at the Hayground School, 151 Mitchell Lane, Bridgehampton, New York 11932.

The Joyce Theater Foundation, Inc. has announced updated programming for the two free performances it is presenting on September 10 and 11 at 5pm in Nelson A. Rockefeller Park (North end of Battery Park City, west of River Terrace) to commemorate the 10th Anniversary of September 11, 2001.

A.R.T. American Repertory Theater (A.R.T.) will present The Gershwins' Porgy and Bess, opening the A.R.T.'s 2011-2 season tonight, August 17 at the Loeb Drama Center. The Gershwin's Porgy and Bess, by George Gershwin, DuBose and Dorothy Heyward, and Ira Gershwin, is adapted by Suzan-Lori Parks and Diedre Murray, and directed by A.R.T. THE GERSHWINS' PORGY AND BESS by George Gershwin, DuBose and Dorothy Heyward, and Ira Gershwin has been re-imagined by A.R.T.'s Artistic Director Diane Paulus, Pulitzer prize-winning writer Suzan-Lori Parks, and two-time Obie winner Diedre Murray, and is heading to Broadway in December. In response to a recent article in the New York Times that explained director Diane Paulus' new vision for the production, theatre legend Stehen Sondheim wrote in to share his thoughts.

The NORDC/NOBA Center for Dance (CFD), a cultural community partnership of the New Orleans Recreation Development Commission and the New Orleans Ballet Association, in collaboration with Friends of NORD, begins its annual Summer Intensive dance program today at Tulane University's McWilliams Hall.

Norm Lewis, Audra McDonald, and David Alan Grier will star as Porgy, Bess, and Sportin' Life in A.R.T.'s new production of The Gershwins' Porgy and Bess. Performances will begin August 17 at the Loeb Drama Center in Cambridge, where it will run until October 2. The show's next stop will be on Broadway at the Richard Rodgers Theater, where it will begin previews on December 17th and will open on January 12th, 2012.

Wolf Trap Foundation for the Performing Arts announces its entire 2011 summer season, featuring 99 performances at the majestic Filene Center amphitheater, eight evenings of opera at The Barns at Wolf Trap, and 70 performances at Wolf Trap's Children's Theatre-in-the-Woods.

Jacob's Pillow announces today that Executive and Artistic Director Ella Baff will soon present the fifth annual Jacob's Pillow Dance Award to Crystal Pite, an internationally renowned Canadian choreographer and Artistic Director of contemporary dance company Kidd Pivot Frankfurt RM.
