She's Back in Just No Time at All! Andrea Martin Will Return to Tony Award-Winning Role in Broadway's PIPPIN

The producers of the Tony Award winning Best Revival of a Musical PIPPIN just announced that Andrea Martin, who won 2013 Tony, Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle Awards for creating the role of "Berthe" in the production, will return to the role for 24 performances only, Tuesday September 2nd through Sunday September 21st. Tony Award winner Priscilla Lopez will now perform the role of "Berthe" through Sunday, August 31. PIPPIN is now in its second smash year at Broadway's Music Box Theatre (239 West 45th Street).

Tony Award winner Priscilla Lopez, who appeared in the legendary original cast of A Chorus Line and was also a replacement for the role of 'Fastrada' in the original production of Pippin in 1973, just joined the all-new Tony Award winning production of Pippin in the role of 'Berthe' last night. Tony Winner Priscilla Lopez Joins the Cast of Broadway's PIPPIN as 'Berthe' Tonight

Sasha Allen, Kyle Selig and More to Star in PIPPIN National Tour, Coming to the Smith Center, 11/25-30

The producers of the Tony Award-winning hit Broadway musical Pippin announced casting for the U.S. national tour, which runs Nov. 25-30 at The Smith Center for the Performing Arts. This all-new production of Roger O. Hirson and Stephen Schwartz's Pippin is directed by Tony Award winner Diane Paulus and features choreography by Tony Award nominee Chet Walker in the style of Bob Fosse and circus creation by Gypsy Snider of the Montreal-based circus company Les 7 doigts de la main (also known as 7 Fingers).

Breaking News: Sasha Allen to Star as 'Leading Player' in PIPPIN Tour!

This just in! Sasha Allen, who won the hearts of millions for being one of the Top 5 on Season 4 of NBC's 'The Voice,' will play the role of 'Leading Player' for the U.S. national tour of PIPPIN. The tour launches on September 10, 2014 at the Buell Theatre in Denver, CO. This all-new production of Roger O. Hirson and Stephen Schwartz's PIPPIN is directed by Tony Award winner Diane Paulus and features choreography by Tony Award nominee Chet Walker in the style of Bob Fosse and circus creation by Gypsy Snider of the Montreal-based circus company Les 7 doigts de la main (also known as 7 Fingers).

PIPPIN Launches National Tour in Denver, Tickets Now on Sale

Experience the national tour first in Denver of the thrilling 2013 Tony Award-winning musical, PIPPIN - described as "An eye-popping, jaw-dropping, visually stunning extravaganza. Broadway's Original PIPPIN Joins the Tony-Winning Cast a Day Early

Tony Award winner John Rubinstein, who made his Broadway debut and received a Theater World Award for creating the title role in the original 1972 production of Pippin, will join the all-new Tony Award winning production of Pippin in the role of 'Charles.' Mr. Rubinstein will play a limited engagement. He was originally scheduled to begin on Friday, but instead, he will start tonight, June 19, and run until Sunday, July 27, 2014 He is filling in for Terrance Mann's leave of absence. Pippin is now playing at the Music Box Theatre (239 West 45th Street).

Today in 1977, Pippin closed at the Minskoff Theatre, after having played 1944 performances. Pippin is a musical with music and lyrics by Stephen Schwartz and a book by Roger O. Hirson. Bob Fosse, who directed the original Broadway production, also contributed to the libretto. The musical uses the premise of a mysterious acting troupe, led by a Leading Player, to tell the story of Pippin, a young prince on his search for meaning and significance. The original cast included: Eric Berry, Jill Clayburgh, Leland Palmer, Irene Ryan, Ben Vereen, and John Rubinstein.

USD Theatre closes on this season with 'Pippin,' music and lyrics by Stephen Schwartz based on the book by Roger O. Hirson. Earlier this year, the Broadway revival of this modern musical received Tony Awards for Best Musical and several other categories. Pippin, the eldest son of King Charlemagne, sets out to make his life special by dabbling in women, war and politics in his quest for true love. The broad comedy, featuring bawdy characters in often dark circumstances, performs at 7:30 p.m., tonight, April 24 through April 26 and again on April 28 with a 2 p.m. show slated for April 27.
