DRIVING MISS DAISY Recoups On Broadway

Producers Jed Bernstein and Adam Zotovich announced today that their premiere Broadway production of Alfred Uhry's Pulitzer Prize-winning play, Driving Miss Daisy, which is playing to sold out houses at the Golden Theatre (252 W45th Street), has recouped its initial investment of $2.6 million in less than three months, making it the first play of the 2010-11 Broadway season to celebrate recoupment.

Bernadette Peters Visits the Today Show, 12/21

A LITTLE NIGHT MUSIC star Bernadette Peters will visit The Today Show on December 21, 2010. Peters will appear on the fourth hour of the segment, hosted by Kathie Lee and Hoda, airing at 10am EST on NBC.

Rylance Brings JERUSALEM to Broadway; Previews Begin April 2 at the Music Box Theatre

Tony and Olivier Award winning star Mark Rylance (La Bête, Boeing-Boeing) will recreate his wildly acclaimed, multi award-winning performance as Johnny ‘Rooster' Byron on Broadway in the Royal Court Theatre production of Jez Butterworth's universally heralded new play, JERUSALEM. The production, directed by Ian Rickson, will also star Mackenzie Crook (The Seagull, 'The Office') as Ginger and most of the original Royal Court cast, with full casting to be announced at a later date. JERUSALEM will open on Broadway on April 21, 2011 at the Music Box Theatre (239 West 45th Street). Previews will begin on April 2, 2011. The production will play a limited 16-week engagement.

DRIVING MISS DAISY Extends with Redgrave, Jones, Gaines Through Apr. 9, 2011

With the playwright at their side on stage at the Golden Theatre, producers Jed Bernstein and Adam Zotovich announced today that Alfred Uhry's Pulitzer Prize-winning play, Driving Miss Daisy, will extend its Broadway premiere engagement through April 9, 2011, making it the only play this season that will be running into the spring. The play's three acclaimed stars, Tony Award-winners James Earl Jones, Vanessa Redgrave and Boyd Gaines, will all remain with the production. Directed by David Esbjornson, Driving Miss Daisy opened on Broadway at the Golden Theatre (252 West 45th Street) on October 25, 2010, where it has since broken all house records. The production was previously scheduled to run through January 29, 2011.

LA BETE to Shutter Early on Jan. 9, 2011

The acclaimed Broadway revival of David Hirson's Olivier Award-winning comedy LA BÊTE starring Tony and Olivier Award winner Mark Rylance, Tony and Emmy Award winner David Hyde Pierce, and BAFTA Award winner (and star of 'Absolutely Fabulous') Joanna Lumley will play through Sunday, January 9th, 2011 at the Music Box Theatre (239 West 45th Street), capping off a limited 16-week Broadway engagement. LA BÊTE began previews on Broadway on September 23rd and officially opened October 14th. The Broadway run immediately follows a critically and commercially successful engagement at the Comedy Theatre in London's West End. LA BÊTE will have played a total of 23 preview performances and 101 regular performances on Broadway.
